You’re being taken by an Orangutan. Now it’s time for song & dance number about wanting to be like us.

Habituated orangutans waylaying people for food. there are many videos like this now. It's like when people used to feed bears in Yellowstone.

We have destroyed their habitat, disrupted their natural growth, is there a place where they can be without human intervention?

I'm guessing the Orangutans in this area are very use to seeing humans on this hiking trail and have figured out humans won't hurt them and often bring food. I spent some time in Borneo and most wild Orangutans are pretty skittish around humans and instantly head for the treetops, you are lucky if you can even snap a picture. I mean size wise alone, a six-foot human would probably seem pretty scary to a three-foot Orangutan.

Cute video but it's not a friendly situation. Grabbing the arm is an act of extortion by the orangutan to get food. If you resist and pull away, things get ugly quickly. In another video one lady was almost in tears because the orangutan would not release her. I don't blame the orangutan. It's been rewarded for this behavior.

This is so different from the interactions with gorillas in Africa where the guide make people keep some distance. Hopefully shared diseases aren't a problem. Also, this wasn't "friendly". This was a stick up. 😂😂

THE APE GRABBED HIS HAND TO GET FOOD ITS A LEARNED BEHAVIOR! SHE ISN'T SHOWING OFF HER BABY SHES REFUSING TO LET GO TO GET EXTRA FOOD. YOU IDIOTS HUMANIZE ANIMALS WAY TOO MUCH AND END UP GETTING HURT OR THEM KILLED! JESUS NOT EVERYTHING IS COGNATIVLY HUMAN BEHAVIOR!!!!

It's really cool but pretty dangerous too. They have different muscle fiber, stronger than adult humans by over 5 times. That baby orangutan could have probably beat the guy up. The adult orangutan could have snapped his wrist in two without even trying too hard.

This is disgusting. These beautiful animals are there to be your selfies. The guide is allowing this because he is getting paid. Imagine what happens if these creatures come across a hunter? Humans are so selfish! Orangutans are not toys! Do you see how confused the baby is? If the mother is allowing humans close, they baby will think it is ok & will expect humans. They will associate humans & food. One day they will trust the wrong human & they are dead all because you selfish people just had to have the hands on experience. Leave the Orangutans to themselves in the forest!!
