    Hey. Glad to see you again! Nice shave! I would like to ask if your razor sharpening technique has changed in recent years? Your last razor sharpening video was dated 4 years ago. If it has changed, it would be interesting to watch a new video. It’s interesting to know which stones you prefer today.

  • @pedrotrust
    @pedrotrustКүн бұрын

    @@sergey_ru Thank you friend! It did not change at all. The stones are the same: 1- Diamond plate 400/1000 grit if the razor needs major work; 2- Naniwa pro 1000; 3- Shapton kuromaku 5000; 4- Natural finisher ( japanese, coticule, translucent arkansas, etc). You just go to the next stone when you're 100% sure your done with the present grit. A decent magnifying loop is a must have in my opinion to check for imperfections and scratch pattern when honing.

    Sorry but the DE razor gives a much more closer shave than a SR. In your video you’re using a Merkur 15c which is known as being an extremely mild razor so yes you’re going to favor the SR over a DE but if you use a Gillette red tip with a Feather blade than your going to find out that a DE is better and no matter how much you hone and strop your SR it will never be as sharp as a DE blade or as efficient.

    many people trying to pump razors up here. Of course they are better, BUT, who want to be well shaved every day? not me...I started using electric shavers , and feel great. they are fast and cheap...they do the job.....then, if you want to go to an official event(which is not everyday), ok go with the razor...otherwise just live a happy life with an electric shaver.

    You can’t judge electric shaving when your using a crap electric shaver .people need try the Bruan series 9 pro or the Panasonic arch 5 or arch 6 they are the best .but they buy cheep electric shavers and they expect cheep ones to cut very close you get what you pay for buy a cheep one it be crap. I find the bruan series 9 pro to shave as almost close as a Mach 3 blade for me .of course the is no shaver at that will beat a blade but the is some that can shave almost as close as a blade

    Hey. If you're a really hig fan of wet shaving then I suggest 1. getting some preshave lotion & some shave soap and I suggest putting the preshave lotion into the shaving soap and 2. Mixing them both up all together to get a completely different result. After you done that you can start shaving and after you're done shaving then rinse off the product with cold water, pat dry with a towel, put some of your after shave if you already have some and BAM! You would get the most for ever smoothest shave that will last you for ever. Like baby butt smooth. You have a more than a really close shave with a straight razor. You have a face epilator smooth shave.

  • @jonahmian5251
    @jonahmian52518 ай бұрын

    You cannot beat a n electric razor and pre shave lotion. Preshave lotion just beats everything when it comes to how easy shaving is.

  • @jonahmian5251
    @jonahmian52518 ай бұрын

    Dry shaving is just easy. You can't go go with out some preshave lotion. You just got to try it out. You cannot beat a good before shave lotion.

    If you use some preserve lotion before you use the american made electric shaver than the electric razor would be such quicker and such faster and you would get a much closer shave.

  • @jonahmian5251
    @jonahmian52518 ай бұрын

    Try a rotary razor instead or some good quality american made high quality shaver like a vintage remington razor, a schick electric razor. You know try the schick powershave. It might be loud but it would be very powerful and very quick but get some afta before lotion by menon.

    All professional barber have all types of shavers no matter what and all professional barbers give people dry shaves if people don't like wet shaving that much no matter what.

  • @jonahmian5251
    @jonahmian52518 ай бұрын

    That's what all barbers have. All barbers have to have all types of shavers no matter what. It does not matter if a foil shavers are slow and straight razors are fast. You need to have all the toils with you to become a professional barber. It's not normal for every professional barber to just have a straight razor without a foil shaver and it's not normal for a barber to give a client a straight razor wet shave if they asked for a dry shave with a foil razor. It's does not make a professional barber.

  • @jonahmian5251
    @jonahmian52518 ай бұрын

    Uh. Besides if you want to become a professional barber then you need to have all the shavers including the electric foil shaver and the straight razor because people would ask for an electric foil razor dry shave. You can't just have a straight razor as a professional barber all barbers have all types of face shavers. If you're working at the shop and you just have only a straight razor with you to use and that's it then you're not a professional barber. That attitude won't look good on you. Not everybody wants a wet sttaight razor shave some people perfer a dry shave and that's okay. Come on. That's why you got ti have all the types of shavers with you than include an electric shaver and a wet straight razor.

  • @jonahmian5251
    @jonahmian52518 ай бұрын

    Or maybe you need to get a faster more better more powerful foil shaver with a more powerful motor.

  • @jonahmian5251
    @jonahmian52518 ай бұрын

    I will never ever use a straight razor ever. I would ues an ekectric razor. I totally disagree with you. Straight razors are to dangerous for me to use I can easily cut my self if I use a straight razor. Dude the foil shaver comes with a trimmer man. Why don't you use the pop up trimmer to see if it gets rid of the ingrown hairs and then use the foil shaver itself. That way it would give you a close shave as a proper razor. Please comparing razors. Just use some before shave lotion before you use the foil razor. That way your foil shaver can shave better.

    ive been shaving with a feather komisori for a few months now. I love it, but I feel that the gillette mach 3 is more efficient. it's faster, less chance of cutting myself, and basically just as close of a shave. i primarily switched to komisori because I wanted a closer shave. but honestly, I really cant see the difference between the two.
