I've been given a poorly treated child's parker knoll chair, I've sanded it back so far it's been left outside for god knows how long I've stripped the seat too. It's got 2 deep cracks where the arms end at the front, what would you do to these? Its obviously warped badly and it's put together with all wood pegs rather than nails etc. I'm going to do what you've done for the stain etc but do you have any tips as to what else it might need to be treated with. I've a lot more smooth sanding to do to it yet 😂 it's probably taking me longer than youve taken to do this full size chair, ive never restored anything like this before, so ive no idea what im doing juat watching lots of videos like yours

So how do I cut new foam for this shape? Mine is a bit different, it has wooden accents for the front of the arm rests that connects to a strip just below the seat section (believe it's from either the 70s or 80s with the color of the terry/velvet it's upholstered with) I really don't want to leave the old stuff on since I have allergies and the dust in it isn't good for me since I can't clean it out. Should I use the old sections to trace directly on the new or onto cardboard or drafting paper to make a template for the new foam? Thank you! Really appreciate this because I've been dying to fix this chair of mine for a year now but felt intimidated by the shape

Hello fellow upholster! My father has been running his upholstery shop for the last 50 years and I've learned so much from him and hopefully will be taking the family ropes soon. I am so scared to be in my own but want nothing more to make his business bigger. I will be watching your videos for help when ever I need it! I have plans to do similar videos of my pieces too! Hope there's a audience 🙏
