instant subscribe. this is exactly what I was looking for. I got a gorgeous antique chair from a dude's garage, but it's just the frame. Feeling a lot more confident approaching it now, thank you!!

Hi Ricky - it was building the platform that was requested and I didn’t want to make the video more long-winded than it needed to be so didn’t include the fabric too 😊🙏🏻

Brilliant videos. I’m covering dining chairs in a subtle patterned fabric. Should fronts & backs and all chairs pattern match?

  • @faceliftinteriors

Thankyou. Yes if possible try and keep the pattern matched as much as possible. You can even turn the fabric upside down on the back if needed. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺️ 📎📐⛏️🧵✂️

I have seen some chairs also done with springs . When does one use springs and when would one not as you did? Lovely job by the way and very helpful. Thanks .

Hi there, very helpful video. Just about to take on a similar project and wondered what type of staple gun you used and the size of staples? Thanks Claire

Lovely videos, I was wondering if you could make one on how to do like a "floating" back suport with fabric around it? I cant figure out how they make the seams so "invisible" 😅. For an example you can take a look at the 60ths scissor chair from the designer Louis van Teeffelen.

Just had a look, they look like the fabric on the back is stappled off round the back then a separate bit of fabric is gripped around the back. Hope this helps! 😊🙏🧵✂️⛏️

Hi, What gauge staples do you use? 20 or 22? Most people us 22 Guage 3/8 of an inch. The device you suggested for the US is a 20 gauge 1/2 inch bridge. Not sure why one would choose besides what is available locally. I believe i can buy any of them around here. Just outside New York. Thanks, Steven

Hi Steven, many thanks for your comment. I use a BEA 71 series staple gun. With 71 Gauge staples I'm sizes from 4mm -14mm. So the most popular would be 71/10 Hope this helps 🙏✂️🧵⛏️📎

If you are in the UK I would use GB Foam as you can order from the website. I use 39H which is a firm blue. 👍🙏🧵✂️⛏️📐

idk but my guess is any medium weight poly, cotton canvas or linen would work, they're probably using this stuff cause it's cheap
