Michael Tryon - MTT Finance

Michael Tryon - MTT Finance

Welcome to my channel! Back in 2018 I graduated with my Master's in Occupational Therapy and received and a high-paying and awesome job right from the get-go. However, soon came the bills for the student loans I borrowed during my college years, and to my dismay, I borrowed around $140,000 that I now need to pay back! I decided to make this channel as a way to motivate myself, and others who are in similar predicaments due to student loans, car loans, mortgage debt, or whatever financial hurdles have/ will appear. I create videos around budgeting, net worth tracking, financial literacy, financial books, debt payoff updates, and investing apps and retirement. Be sure to like and subscribe to see more content about my journey to financial independence, as well as learn how you yourself can apply tried and true money strategies so that you can meet your financial goals.

I lost over $70k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Natalie Strayer.

The very first time we tried, we invested $2000 and after a week, we received $9500. That really helped us a lot to pay up our bills.

My question is, why are you doing Roth contributions that are the average amount for 12 months when you didn’t begin with 12 months remaining for contributions. The deadline for 2024 is April 15, 2025. So you need to do the average for the remainder of months, so like 9 months left. So if you had $5k left to contribute, you would divide that by 9 months.

Congratulations of becoming debt free. It's the best thing. Because we reduced expenses as a part of our debt free journey, we now have (in dollars) more to save and invest per month than we had in debt payments, which is, as you have no doubt noticed.

I watched your debt payoff journey even though I personally don't have debt and will continue to watch to see what other goals you accomplish. I like seeing what people with average incomes like myself do with their money and always pick up little things here and there that inspire me and help me with my goals.

Congratulations on your debt pay off which is so inspiring. I’m sure the journey has positively impacted on your financial mind set and you and your wife have gained valuable financial discipline which is the bedrock of building wealth. My advice is to get stuck into the mortgage as even fairly small monthly overpayments will knock off a huge sum from the interest bill. My husband and I paid off our mortgage in our late 40s and retired on good pensions at 50 and did this on good but not spectacular incomes, but we had developed financial discipline when we were much younger and it really paid dividends. I will watch your journey with interest and the best of luck to you and your wife.
