When I got my (Border Collie/Retriever mix) I thought he got a parvovirus - sluggish, sleepy, no appetite, throwing up. I even fed him with a syringe the first couple of days, but then he rebound to a normal hungry playful puppy again. I had no idea that a puppy could feel a moving stress in a such degree.

Great training. "Leave it" at the end was so cute. And do you have videos of how to teach those tricks? Especially interested in the bite inhibition. What negative reinforcements do you use?

Lovely dog. And amen to the positive reinforcement; Our BC/Lab mix wasn't happy on his first car ride, but as you, we trained it in small steps with positive reinforcement. Now he loves it, and now his favourite "Fluent Pet button" is the "Ride the car" one.

Our 1 year old BC slobbers a ton when he gets in the car. He always goes to fun places but we can't solve this problem. We don't take him very far because of this which is disappointing because he would love going to other places.

doctors makes mistakes 90% of the time and unlike when most others do it, it has sociopathic outcomes. Egomaniacs. I know you need your positive associations and feedback. Thats why you all dont realize these sociopaths are running havoc on reality and all life on this planet. Very Very sick and broken people. The original nerds. Never learned to use their bodies properly. Gave their life to an unhealthy lifestyle that basically stole their youth. Happens to most of us, but when you have a job where you hold others peoples lives in your hands. You tend either be or become sociopathic. Because you just cant cope otherwise. These people need to be stopped. Sowwy

This video was helpful, in that it helped me understand what happened when I brought my little collie puppy home today in the car! She threw up, but before she did she was panting and drooling profusely! It made me uncomfortable because collies aren’t a drooling breed like most huge dog breeds.. then she got up and her belly tightened a few times before she yacked a whole load lol.. I wish I would’ve known to bring a bunch of paper towels, but instead I was prepared with potty training pads in case she peed 😭

Very late but it might be helpful to someone else - Hills, Royal Canin, Purina etc. are actually pretty bad kibble brands. The only good thing about them is their veterinary formulas. Otherwise, their ingredients are garbage. Dogs are carnivores so their food must be mostly meat. And they shouldn't eat corn, soy etc. Plus grains and lentils are not really great for them either. In the ingredients list, the stuff that has the biggest percentage is always first. There also shouldn't be vague descriptions like meat meal, other meat/plant derivates etc. but dried beef, fresh chicken, pork liver, rice and so on

How much exercise do you find they need? Some people say they spend hours exercising/playing while others say the BC's reputation is exaggerated and they can get by with an hour of exercise and they sleep a lot indoors.

I wanted a German Shepherd, as a guard dog. Instead I was given a Border Collie/Australian Mix. I have never owned a smarter pain in the rear, kind of dog. He keeps me on my toes. And surprises me how ridiculously intelligent he is. The goofy head tilts, how he plays hide and seek. Observant of my actions. And stubborn at times but listens and learns so quickly.

Thanks for posting this video, I have just gotten my 9week old BC Bowie. She’s a beautiful but I am worried that I am single and working professional I won’t be able to provide the best life for her. In your opinion, is it too much work for one single dog parent (works full time) flexible working from home arrangement? Your advice would be appreciated ❤

There aren't many channels that acknowledge the dog's desires. I'm strongly in favor of this approach. I want my pup's personality.....I don't want them to to just disappear into a world of commands. I want a respectful bond. My dog has teeth and she uses them to grab things.....She never hurts me and I can feel her pressure reduce when she knows. ...and she knows she can hurt me....or she wouldn't reduce force. That's the bond I like.

This is gold. Hard to find a brief and concise video of these details. I have bonded with a friends' Aussie and I'm searching for my own now. These are unspoken but true lessons. Nicely done.
