Sharing stories for farmers, gardeners and home herbalists.
After a year in a school bus visiting farms around America, my family and I live in a community on a beautiful farm in California. Learn with me, as I amplify voices that need to be heard and explore ways to grow regeneratively. Sharing ‘how to’ and farm tours with some amazing farmers and herbalists.

When he said soil needs a biologically diverse fungi dominated compost because that's what the soil needs, he left out the fact that the soil needs electrolytes, that's what the plants crave. And the only way to get that is through the use of brondo. I have a feeling we will eventually just water all crops with brondo in the future.
This video is showing love and care to our mother earth and every living in it! Thank you so very much! ♥️
What was the setup cost for the radio tower, collar system
How often do you do your tretmant of the fields??? Watering with a truck and all else??? I own a hazelnut fields and would like to improve the soil they are grown on so am wondering how often do you treat your fields? And is there such a thing as too much of it???
You could also put the feces of black soldier fly larva into your compost tea. It will cause the plants to grow thicker skin, making it more resilient to pests.
100th Anniversary of Rudy Steiner’s lectures on agriculture this month! How are we celebrating 🎉 ? 🍎🧑🌾👩🌾👨🏾🌾👩🌾👩🏿🌾🐦⬛🪱🐞🐏🐑🐄🐓🌳🌳🌴🌱
Amazing work. Thanks for sharing your wonderful story.
"We’ll be getting the finished compost under the microscope in January. " Did I miss it?
No! I did! Life happened. But since you are interested, I’ll get it looked at soon.
Where did you get your aerator?
Great video love your energy and how u make compost for your seedlings 🇳🇿❤️
Cute face!
Stunning on all fronts 🥹💕
Too much equipment (expenses/liabilities), tilling, and not alternating cattle or other livestock throughout the 1000 acres. Literally all this guy needs to do is start creating paddocks across his 1000 acres, move cattle around, place his compost in the freshly stirred up paddock, and repeat. He’ll have the most organic, HQ land and beef that people will pay top dollar for all while removing about 50% of his current expenses
He also practises holistic grazing like you described above and the seed drill ensures he doesn’t need to till. I’m curious how you would place your compost on 1000 acres. Can you recommend a cost effective way of placing compost on that scale?
Great content!!
Thanks you!
Started to go no till farming and cover cropping with cattle and the results are amazing, especially what you mentioned about the health of the animals it really shows it’s advantages
I’m so happy to hear that! Keep up the amazing work!
Thankyou 😊
You are welcome!
It is good to see that this no till farming and manure application is being done on large scale farms. This will also prevent soil erosion while producing healthier plants and feed for people and animals. Big kudos!
So that's a shock collar on the cattle?
best video in the world
🤣We had fun making it! 🍋
Wow!! “No vet calls” wow, surprised and yet not
about to share with a younger farmer friend who has expressed the need for a more natural farming method. Multi species covers and Johnson Su compost being the best options thus far.
Serene and natural lifestyle. Colour combinations can also be made?
I haven’t tried but you could. You’ll get a greeny colour.
A MAGICAL and WONDERFUL community! Go Shemesh Farm Fellows!
Put leaves in all your pathways and each spring harvest your pathways for soil. I did a couple videos on it last year. With all the people walking on the paths, you won't believe the results.
Thanks for the tips!
Very cool! Keep up the great job!
A wonderful community ❤️
It really is!
Love the multitude of animals that initially brought life to your garden! Wow.
Team work!💫
What rate are you applying for the no till drill? Are you running a liquid tank with it?
I wish I had more time/effort to collect more materials from my community. Being a homeschool/part time work from home parent does suck up a decent amount of time!
I have dreams of collecting all the waste in my community and making huge piles of compost but the reality is working with 2 children is already a lot! The good news is this is compact and it took us half a day to collect it all and another half a day to mix. Leave it for a year and you’ve got enough to feed acres with extract.
what was growing at 4:52?
Thanks from england. Inspirational.
Our pleasure!
It's All About The Biology.
Absolutely!
This is so awesome… spoken like a true Plant Mama 🪴
I live in Texas. it's really hot here in the summers. I've been fighting problems with my compost systems over heating and drying out for years. I've seen every video i can find on the Johnson-Su process and i can't directly reproduce his system like you have there. So i've split my process into two steps. The thermophilic part i do out in the regular compost pile where the heat can do it's part. And then i bring that material into the shaded , relatively cooler, area where the outdoor (half barrel sized) worm bins are located. Then the worms can do their thing for a number of months where i can keep an eye on them; temperature, extra food etc. So far my plants have been the best they've ever been. And i'm starting to work with neighbors to better feed their plants. Improves the sense of community too.
I love this! Thank you for sharing your process with others who might need this information.
Love this!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
Have you ever thought of adding some flour to build fungal mass?
No, that sounds interesting. How does that work?
One mushroom to another - "Why don't you like me, I'm a fungi."
It so great you got into this with your background of fungi
i love the transitioning 😊 from somehow farming to manage farming, this an incredible work the future is green😮
I know! So grateful for farmers like Cory.
Seems like a massive energy and technology dependent Rube Goldberg machine to essentially accomplish what nature has been doing organically for millions of years. Yet, still very impressive as a modern day operation. I’ll still take cows on a rotational grazing system over this any day.
This is a science that might ACTUALLY be 'SAFE AND EFFECTIVE'.
Definitely safe and definitely effective!
✋ "Promo sm"
Great old school process! Thank you for showing .
Thanks for watching!
Many thanks, Grace. Did you say leave the bucks with the does for 42 days or 2 days? That part wasn't clear tto me.
round up will kill your soil . It is nothing but agent orange dyed blonde .
True!
How much extract comes out of one 5 gallon bucket
Roughly 5 gallons. Which is the size of most backpack sprayers.
This farmer Jack McAndrew has the kindest face ive ever seen, hes the salt of the earth. Once Rudolf Steiner came to me in my dream and spoke to me, i saw a beautiful golden spiral next to me it was my daughters hair, he said she is the connection between the cosmos and the earth. And she loves Rudolf Steiner and biodynamics. Its so beautiful to teach children about biodynamics
Has anyone seen one man one cow one planet? It should be compulsory in every school round the world
I need to watch that. Where did you find it?
@@peopleoftheplants I bought it from biodynamic NZ but I'll add a link here I found
Substance of earth, essence of light, Grace of heaven, In us unite ✨ 🙏 Thank you so much for this beautiful story about biodynamic composts, if everyone on earth used biodynamics in their garden or farm the earth would be so wonderful 🌸🦋
I made a biodynamic compost last year and the soil is beautiful now where my fruit trees are growing
I totally agree. We need more gardens and more farmers! It’s the best work that can be done right now.
@@peopleoftheplants yes biodynamics is the future, biodynamics is the way to make farms and gardens have healthy soil 🌻🦋
In order to multiply mycorrhizal fungi you need living roots in the soil.
