As a gunsmith, if I could redesign one RWBY weapon it'd be Ember Celica. Just... swap the rotating bit for an actual magazine tube. It'd also alter the silhouette to give Yang some elbow spikes that I think would make her look cooler.

Any updates on that extension lock? I have been eyeing this for years but feel like it needs the thrusting ability for 2k!
@BionicConceptsАй бұрын
There were a few extension lock prototypes with varying internal structure that have been sold on a one on one basis, I think they worked well enough because I never heard back from the customers who bought them, but there are inherent limitations with the idea just due to the fact that you need surface area to transmit force, and running down the center of the staff you have very little vertical surface area to transmit that impact internally. (spring, bearings, and retraction lock take up almost all space) But I can make an extension lock, I even have a 4th type of mechanism I'm thinking of trying but I am not actively pursuing this because bottom line is the jabbing extension lock would never be able to transmit as much impact as you can with side to side strikes. There's 2 inches of titanium overlap for each sliding segment. Internally I'm limited to like 3/16" square of surface area to transmit the jabbing strikes impact through the center. To me it seems like an added level of complexity and therefore a liability under heavy impact. (More things that can go wrong.) For now I'm focusing on longevity and durability of the various internal components. And removing and internalizing as many external fasteners to give it that perfect smooth exterior.
