Still Waiting for the Original Star Wars Release . Excluding the exceptional Blu-ray and 4k77 Unofficial Release. And how 🤔 long ago in a Disney Basement It's be stashed to never be seen.I fear they have been destroyed???By Lucas. STANLEY KUBRICK was noted for Burning any extra footage at the time. So his movies would not be enhanced or Altered.Thats why we don't have extra footage to see it let alone be included in any current format

My favorite box set was the Scream Factory Halloween one. I absolutely adore that box set, and couldn’t believe I finally had it. That’s one of my most prized possessions.

Me 2!!! as somebody that pays for Netflix once or twice a year just to see the new stuff. I find it very annoying that there’s not a physical copy of it.

I feel like Saltburn will find it's way to Criterion. I hope so anyway.

I recently purchased Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio from The Criterion Collection on Blu-ray, and it had a couple of small scratches on it- much to my fury. Luckily for me it worked just fine, so I didn't have to replace it, but it still makes me mad that something I bought brand new (and for a pretty expensive price of over $40 Canadian) had scratches on it when purchased brand new. It's certainly frustrating/infuriating, but if it works then it's easier to let it go, but I still don't like it. Either way, The Criterion Collection is similar to Scream/Shout Factory in the sense that discs come damaged.

Wow, he actually swore. Caught me by surprise. I want a physical release for a Netflix original film called A Whisker Away, love that film. Other than that there is one other film I really really want on physical media. Technically this other film has been released twice on bluray. The first is an out of print bluray steelbook that goes for over $200 on places like Ebay and the second release is in a $550 collector set. I just want an affordiable option to buy the bluray, is that too much to ask for?

Hey Ken, The Stand steelbook you talk about is for the original Mick Garris mini-series. I would add the the other saying to pick it up. It's such a great post apocalyptic show with an amazing cast. Now that I've got futher along in horror, its great to see Joe Bob Briggs, Sam Rami, John Landis and Stephen King pop up in different scenes. High recommend, Ken.

I see a white box on the shelf. It has a red BR with a red circle around it. Is that like a Special Edition release of The Hunger Games? Maybe like complete different better cut of The Hunger Games movie or something like that? Is this BR a prequel of Hunger Games? Hunger Games is a remake…or…Hollywood rip off of…B…R…maybe?

Ken, you forgot about Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon”. It came out last November in theaters. Then, it went to streaming on Apple TV in February and has not yet gotten a physical release. True, it was a disappointing effort from Scott IMHO. I forgot which studio produced that along with Apple. It flopped theatrically.

I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out exactly what goes on in the minds of studios and distributors when it comes to physical releases post covid. Ever since this all digital hellscape has taken over, fewer and fewer movies/shows have been released for home video. I saw the writing on the wall long before 2019, but the moment that things changed heavily in my mind was when I went to the theaters to see Army of the Dead. High profile movie, big-name stars (Dave Bautista/Ella Purnell), Zach Snyder directing, $100M budget...and no physical release since its debut. And I just knew in my heart that movie was going to get released because of its nature. But when that never happened, I realized that if any streaming service is given distribution rights for a film, you have to pray that it will actually get released. Just like with Don't Look Up. A movie that has every right to be released on physical media, but is stuck in digital limbo. And it doesn't even seem as if it's because the streaming services feel like they should retain exclusivity of IP's in order to increase their membership count because many of the films that I'd love to see are properties that can't possibly be counting heavily towards their numbers because either they're two niche for anyone to notice, or they've been out so long that everyone who's wanted to see them already has and they're no longer maintaining any hold for the platform. The Wandering Earth Day Shift The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Night in Paradise Project Power Blood Machines Kill Boksoon Oxygen I Am Mother In the Shadow of the Moon The Tomorrow War Extraction 1 & 2 Project Adam Kate Night Comes for Us I could go on and on and on. You mentioned Prey, but that was a very rare win for physical collectors. And even then, it seems to have only been a limited release and you can't really find it anywhere outside of the second hand market now. And in the SLIGHTEST defense of Disney, (outside of Barbarian of course), they seem to be the only ones doing more than most recently by releasing their Marvel and Star Wars properties in small bursts these days, four shows at a time, but we never know which shows they're going to release, or when. It seems like each time they release a group, they sit back and wait to see how much interest they generate. So who even knows if they'll even do another set of shows at any given time? And they're the exception with the streaming landscape, not the rule. It's frustrating being a cinephile and a collector in the 2020's...

Killers of the Flower moon is martin Scorsese movie, the physical rights were held my Martin he sold it to the Italian producer. In the states don’t hold your breath in the states Apple owns the US rights to the movie.
