Well done sir! You nailed the pro's and cons of each of them. I've been driving a 2020 148" MR Transit as my personal work vehicle for 3 years now, I LOVE it! As I think about what I want in a Camper Van, I simply won't consider either the Sprinter or the Promaster. I've driven the Promaster and been involved in the management of fleets that included Sprinters. I was not impressed with the handling, ride, or acceleration the the Promaster; the Sprinters cost a fortune to repair and maintain. My Transit is fun to drive and will carry my tools and cargo easily. My intent is to go with the Transit Trail.

The Mercedes has the best look in my opinion. I will never buy Mopar for personal reasons. And I just can’t deal with a weak power train so Ford is my choice. Plus I like in the USA and used Transit vans are easier to purchase and maintain.

In spite of all the problems, the recalls, and the entire Transit Trail upgrade being exposed as cosmetic and impractical, Ford is still selling this upgrade for custom builds. The nerve of some companies. It's better to get a stock Transit and build it out with aftermarket upgrades. Cheaper, too.

The starvent 14x14 with a remote, rain sensor , dual arms for the lid and smoked lid looks to be a great option. I'm on amazon here in Canada and can only wish to see the low prices you can find vent fans for in the U.S. I wonder if there are parts available for these starvents. It has a fair price to it in comparison to the brand name units and looks to use a good motor but time would tell. Likely the 11 inch would perform well in a ram promaster high roof cargo van but would have to go with the 14 to get the added options. See what you think of these loaded up units and fire off a vid if you like. Enjoyed this one and much appreciated. 👍

How do I order a promaster to my specs? I can see the build option then they refer me to dealers who don't have what I wanted
@janetn2462 ай бұрын
If the dealers don't have what you want, you can put in a special order with a dealer. You will have to give them a (nonrefundable) payment of maybe $1000 toward the final bill and it will probably take 5 - 7 months to ship from Europe, but you can get exactly what you want.

I believe the Promaster is significantly wider than the Sprinter or Transit, which gives you a bit more elbow room inside. The lower floor with the same ground clearance is a plus as well for the Promaster. The biggest downside to the Promaster is the FWD only, which can make it a no-go for a large customer base.
