It is wrong to conclude that there are no Russians in Slobozhansky, since the front line runs north of Liptsy. Now the Russians are using the tactics of mobile promotion of small sabotage and reconnaissance groups that move quickly in the deep rear of the Ukrainians and destroy Ukrainian logistics.

More than 2 years into this war, and Russia has only reached this far. Meanwhile, the war is taking its toll on the economy (see the article Овощи, лекарства и не только. На что подскочили цены в России с начала 2024 года for one example). One has to wonder if it wouldn't be better for Russia to withdraw.

commander I don't see the point sending the best troups in karkiv and in the "kill zone" of vovchansk.. while we are loosing lots of positions in the rest of the frontline. It's ok defend but not at all costs.

If Russians reach Pokrovsk and capture it it will be like Mariupol a lot of ground around it will collapse and i think Kupiansk and Siversk will collapse and a major push from Vovchansk will come down and secure that zone and link up with Kupiansk .After that Russians will push to Zaphorozia and link up with Kharkiv then go to Odessa .

Once a week I put "Ukraine" in the YT search bar and just scan what comes up for the day....90% is pro-Ukraine. Typically the known pro-Ukraine fountains of propaganda like The Sun, Telegraph, Kanal13, and Davyov. Davyov I can excuse since he is Ukrainian and is supposed to "keep the faith" no matter what; but the others I just scratch my head. They don't specifically lie; last week Telegraph was all over "Ukraine destroys 11 Russian vehicles in biggest attack of the war!" That is not a lie, but the attack had over 50 vehicles and probably 80% of the assault force succeeded in entering the city. A city AFU has no hope of holding. Telegraph never says that part; and then when bad news shows up in the NYTimes, 80% of the commenters (who never read anything other than Western news), howl with rage at Biden for "not giving Ukraine enough". Most casual Western citizens really have no idea just how badly Ukraine is being destroyed..."

I think it is approx 25% RAF, and 75% UAF. More importantly, the 25% occupied by Russia is the most valuable part for the West. Most densely concentrated region for Minerals, Lithium, Coal. It is 'The' industrial center of Ukraine, has the largest Nuclear power plant in Europe. By doing so it will devalue the rest of Ukraine!

35:50 I think the Russians do some of these attacks just to probe the enemy, and then to withdraw. I think some are done as in the moment break through attacks, and some are just failed attacks. I remember hearing about some city getting attacked and then the Russians said that they withdrew and they would return the next day to secure, and they did. Also look at the Russians who took the aggregate plant North of Kharkov so fast ahead of the other Russians that they were cut off for a while. Or other attacks where the Russians suddenly attacked without artillery support to exploit a situation. Clearly not all these attacks are going to be successful and some maybe even outright ambushes.

There has just been report that Russians have crossed into the Oktyabrsky district of Chasov Yar and have secured the first foothold. Russians can't leave this city alone. The real strategic objective is to eventually capture that line of city from Slavyansk to Konstantinovka. Russians can't do that without taking Chasov Yar first. They will also combine that with a push from the south after the battle over Toretsk is over. Gaining Chasov Yar is also a huge advantage because it sits on high ground overlooking Konstantinovka. Right now, Russia shares the Chasov Yar high ground with the Ukrainians as Russians have the Canal district which is at the same elevation. I believe Russians will take Chasov Yar, as Ukrainians seem to be crumbling everywhere.

Slobozhanshchina or Sloboda Ukraine is the name of a large region of Russia that includes Kharkiv, Sumy, Kursk and Belgorod. It has had its name since the time of Ivan the Terrible. Therefore, the Kharkov front can be called the Slobozhansky front.

You might try including VIIRS Satellite Thermal Hotspots to your SITREP. It shows Thermal Hotspots and Fire Activity by monitoring infrared, smoke, & dust. You can see which buildings or areas are getting overheated. The other MODIS satellite map doesn't show as much detail & I think ends in 2025, it sees water-vapor moving up into the atmosphere to predict fires.
