Haha I'm going to try some of these tips out. That's a lie no I'm not. Thanks anyway dudes.
I pinch hold 35 lb plates. Has helped my grip a lot.
Cheap grip killer: cut 3 foot section of tree for each hand, roughly 6-8 in in diameter. We use sections with a slight curve to go around your body. Two eye screws into the top about 1-1.5 feet apart. A d ring or carabiner clip onto a piece of chain and onto each eye bolt. A 6 inch pvc section over the chain. The pvc spins while carrying the log sections, and ours weighs in at 50-60 lbs per log section. Do a long farmers carry with that till failure, turn around and carry it back. HUGE improvement in grip strength, hang time, and grip obstacle completion and this was the exercise that did it.
Can you post a picture?

Around the 4 min mark of the first video was the log carry and you can see it there, I dont think you can attach pics to a yt video
Great. My grip is rubbish. I’m gonna use these, thanks
That's me at 5 minutes and 5 seconds!!!
Was this course mostly flat?
Looks like any average Spartan Race. Not impressed
Pumped for this year
Good stuff! Living vicariously through you when I can't make it to the race!
It was Awesome!!!!
Showing pictures of the host city - great idea! (btw, I'll give you a tour of Grandview when they do Savage Dallas. It'll only take a minute. ) Love your stuff!
agavegrove Haha, I may have to take you up on that!
Good to see you back!
Keep creating content bro 💪
Thanks man. Missed you in OKC
OMG Coley's song was amazing! Love how the video flowed with it
The guy at 7:05 is a testimony that you can do it! Very good content
Hey, are you guys a Christian group? As a Christian myself, I have been getting into OCR races and love seeing other people of faith getting involved. I did my first Spartan race in February, here in Arizona. They don't come 'round these parts much. I might do Palmerton in July. Depends on travel arrangements and money. Well, God bless. Looking forward to 2018.
Awesome !! :)
Fermin Roland Medina thanks for watching! Great conversation with Adrian Bijanada (OCR World Champs) coming up on Monday.
Another great show! You're pushing the boundaries of what OCR media is. Keep it coming!
Jason, those kind words keep me going! Please spread the word however/whenever you can. Thanks brother!
Oh, and if you didn't see yourself in the video. Try kzread.info/dash/bejne/gKSF1tVqZqyqosY.html from "thenomadicrunner"
Love you guys, AWESOME content! Keep it coming guys. -miles
Thanks Miles, great job out there!
That was awesome! Wish we would have ran into you guys there, but there's always next time
You guys are the best OCR media!!
Ronald Tortola thanks bro; great seeing you!
awesome work like always guys! Thank you!
Ronald Tortola. Thanks man. Praying for Houston!
Love the videos!
Jouri , thank you! We have some awesome stuff planned for our next two races. CTG Tulsa and US OCR Championships. Please stay tuned!
great job, Slack Line was a killer
Yep. My big screw up was looking at the line and where I was stepping. It was only when I stared at the finish point that I could walk through easily.
The rain definitely wreaked havoc on the course. At the end of my shift (I was the guy dressed as a cheerleader on The Plunge) I noticed the first step of the climb side was under water. I almost fell several times going back and forth through the festival area and left my shoes somewhere in the mud. I plan on going to the June 24 event in Oklahoma - sure hope it doesn't rain like here!
P!nk Cheer Guy The question is were the shoes you lost flats or Stilettos? 😉
They WERE a pair of New Balance 411 mid-rise heel ballroom dance shoes. The heels had previously come off and I had reglued them back on. One heel had partially come off again prior to this run and I taped it back on. By the end of my shift the tape and both heels had come almost all the way off. If you find them you can have them! ;-)
Great video! That was an epic race! Hardest race I've done to date!
loved every minute good time . thanks ctg . see u in October
Keep it up guys, GREAT JOB!!!!
Awesome video! I must say I felt the Austin Super was easier compared to the one I did last year and the year before! I also tore my knee up on Olympus! I know better now!
derek heizer Yeah, my knees still look bad. Cool Obstacle though. Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed myself...but I didn't feel like it was half as hard as last year's terrain...the mountain killed me the year before...
Yeah, last year had a lot more hill country. I know because we volunteered for the course sweep afterwards. Still, I agree with Yancy that the layout and obstacle order is what put this up there with some Beasts! Oh, and the thorns (elite cleared a lot of them out for the rest of us)! Crazy thing is our biggest nightmare of a race was probably Houston's SPRINT in 2016 only because of how muddy/flooded it was.
Thanks for watching!
You guys are awesome! keep up the good work and fun in the races! the music at the start of the video in the mexican restaurant nailed it!! haha
Ronald Tortola Thanks man; Say "hey" to those abs for us!
The Mud Movement haha I will! we are talking with my friends about your videos, you guys are awesome, seriously, keep up the good work, we love you
Legit vid! Keep it coming!
Thanks Kenny. We'll be at CTG Dallas. Maybe we'll see you there.
Love you guys!
Love ya right back, Randy. We actually parked right across from you guys (assuming you were in the big Grip Fitness van). Sweet ride. Glad to see ya'll out representing!
Whoops. I mean GRIT of course!
YIKES; We buried the lead! Amelia placed second. Check out the video description for list of top elite winners.
Great video. I haven't done a Warrior Dash yet, maybe next year.
Not as many obstacles as some, but some cool ones; and prob best festival vibe I've seen!
Sorry it took 5 days to produce; busy week. Hopefully it was worth the wait. As always, thanks for watching; please like and subscribe!
WE HAVE OUR WINNERS!!! Congratulations Jeremy Wisotsky (cap), Fermin Roland Medina (small shirt), and Travis Wells (XL shirt). We've emailed the winners. Stay connected to The Mud Movement for more great giveaways to come!
Very fun race! Can't wait to run it again. Super cool to see my team and I at 2:30!
Sounds like you guys need a road trip. CTG Dallas (June 3rd).
LOVED the video and that it showed a lot the those obstacles that are difficult so people can get a better understanding of this. I submitted a response on your website as well and look forward to meeting you at some point during this race season.
Hey guys, please share this with Jordan Buscemi if you know him. I couldn't find his FB or Instagram.
Sorry to beg for subscriptions. I just hate that we don't have a custom url yet. When we hit the 100 subs mark, we can apply. Thanks for your help!
Great video fellas. Really enjoyed meeting you in Houston. See you at the next one!
Thanks Adam. Good to meet you, and I wish I would have listened to you on Friday! You told me to be careful pulling that sled weighted for elite. Sure enough, I jacked up my back...making Saturday a real task. It just confirmed what I already knew. I need to work on back strength along with grip strength... oh, and every other strength :)
awesome video guys!! You're doing a great job!
Ronald Tortola Thank you brother; we had a blast!

Great content! Headed to ATL this weekend for the sprint. Expecting more new obstacles in the Sprint-no twister traverse? Tire flips?
Thanks for subscribing. I don't know about Atlanta, but I would count on seeing both the twister and tires in Austin (May 20-21). Blessings and safe travel this weekend! BTW- We'll be filming at Conquer the Gauntlet next weekend. Great race; a lot of upper body. Hope to see you there!
