  I presume this cartoon was made in Germany, where this particular film studio was located. With that in mind, it's ironic and actually tragic that the heads of the star / angels closely resemble the yellow Star of David that Jews would be made to wear by the Nazis in Germany.

  indeed, look at the lightbulbking at 4:19min, those are all yellow stars and for sure this video from 1937 is from the third empire. Its from Fischerkösen so german but i never seen an international spot before. Fischerkösen did some Jobs for the Nazis: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e4pk0auaac7Fqag.html

  @@cleanTron I suspect this same cartoon was used in more than one European country where Philips light bulbs were sold. Only the last two shots had to be changed to incorporate different languages. The only other words that appear are in English: "Sunrise" and "Lady Sun", which weren't tied to any particular country. But it's still VERY strange that the yellow Star of David appears frequently, since the Nazis were already controlling Germany.

  Tja ein Onkel 1907 geboren 1989 Gestorben in den 60er noch starker Raucher mit Zigarren auf Lunge, kurz vor Raucherbein stand. Der Rechte Zeh musste wegen absterben abgenommen werden. Da wurde er Schlagartig zum Nichtraucher. Wie Trügerisch diese Werbung ist. Das Rauchen Hip, und Verherrlicht, Wunder vollbringt, Sorgen in Rauch auflöst. Das wurde in den 30er Jahren in den Köpfen Eingeimpft.

  The idea of this historical spot was great . The sun overslept the sunrise. Replaced by a bulb. Historical advertesing, in good quality.

  The main song used is called "Wenn Die Woche Keinen Sonntag Hätt", I'm not sure what the other songs are though. I think the Wenn Die Woche Keinen Sonntag Hätt song was just extended with intrumental, which is why the melody keeps appearing throughout the animation.

  I realize that the dancing cigarette was overcoming symbols of bad luck (which, interestingly, are the same in the USA), but I thought this little movie was scary.

  I wouldn't decide between Osram and Philips, both companies are experienced. One interesting thing is, that history repeats. Telefunken, producing consumer electronics, as equipment for professional sound, purchased a record company and put all the experience into this. It was early 1930's. Philips did the same after WW2. Became later part of the phonogram group.
