You're not accounting for the depth they are at compressing the air. Thus much less ballast is needed.

If only NASA would stop being lazy and actually spend my American tax dollars on more important things like rotating space stations that can generate gravity for the human crew instead of wasting my tax dollars on stupid shit.

    0:36 I'm going to be extremely pedantic: technically the 2nd law is `F ∝Δp / Δt`, or `F = k * Δp / Δt`. In words, 'the force is proportional to the change in momentum over the change in time'. k is defined as 1 (i.e. a change in momentum of 1 kg ms^-1 over 1 second requires 1 newton of force), so `F = Δp / Δt`. From this, `F = ma` can be derived: p = mv, so Δp = `mv₂ - mv₁ = m(v₂ - v₁)`. This means `F = m(v₂ - v₁) / Δt = ma`. (My excuse for being pedantic is practise for my physics A-level paper 1 in 3 days :P.)

Take into account the boats own weight (which won't make that much of a difference) and also the difference in pressure when underwater. Its still not possible, but just wanted to takerhat into account (and naybe they would need even more weight to keep the boat underwater).

Notice how the front of the boat is lower than the back, when they are under the water? That is because, part of Jack's plan included running the boat to an anchor he saw just inside the water line, which they secured inside of the front of the boat, out of camera shot ;) This isn't shown because of the cut from the beach, to underwater, but Captain Sparrow had it all figured out. ;) At least that's what I'm going with!! 😂

I just love this! 101.5 KPLZ in Seattle and surrounding area always played this. I can never get enough. It’s as traditional for me as the original version as well as watching national lampoons Christmas vacation each year 🥰🍻

The lyric for the KPLZ version was 'no more prepubescent whiny singing, now there's no more New Kids On The Block'. I remember it well! They kept the verses mostly the same, but 101.5 KPLZ was part of my Bremerton childhood.

forget about buoyancy... is it not far more obvious and pertinent that it's not possible to form an air pocket in an upside-down boat by simply walking into the water with it? the air in the boat would be immediately displaced.
