    I love the way you teach. You don’t just show how to do it but you explain what every bit of movement does, why we do it & its effect on the water. As a beginner I appreciate this. Please do more videos. Am having a hard time breathing on my side during freestyle. I also failed my treading with eggbeater kick test. Will take the class again and hope to pass with your coaching🙏 (mom from 🇨🇦)

    Thank you very much for the kind words! We have a video coming out in this series that talks directly about how to breathe to the side in front crawl (freestyle). It should be out in a few weeks. Good luck with your eggbeater kick test! 😁😁

    Hi, I had total knee replacement on my both knees, I want to learn breast stroke. But because of total knee operation I can’t bend completely, to bring my legs near my bottom. I can bend only upto 90% . So do you think I can’t do breast stroke properly?

  • @AaquaticsUK
    @AaquaticsUK4 күн бұрын

    Best to follow your doctor’s advice. But from experience this won’t be a problem for you at all. Even with the limited range of motion, you will still be able to perform the leg action and it will help you to strengthen the associated muscles and tendons around the joint. I’d recommend trying it with the legs in isolation, perhaps buy yourself a pool noodle and pop it under your arms and try the leg action. I will film a video for you soon, to show different ways to practice all of these things in multiple ways. In the meantime best of luck, let us know how it goes! 👍 If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out.

    Some coaches teach high elbow pull (fingers facing the floor of the pool) engaging lats instead of the pull you are showing. Can you please clarify which is better ?

  • @AaquaticsUK
    @AaquaticsUK6 күн бұрын

    This can cause excess rotation in the shoulder and cause drag when returning the hands to the neutral position. Better to not fight the water and keep as efficient as possible, to ensure a sustainable stroke over hundreds (or thousands) of repetitions

    Some coaches say you should not go wide with your arms...make it a small circle in front??

  • @AaquaticsUK
    @AaquaticsUK4 күн бұрын

    Yes as I mention, we don’t want to create too big a circle in front of you. A reasonable size, but definitely don’t let your arms go behind your shoulder line when pulling back! 👍

    Try moving yourself through the water in a shallow depth. Get used to the feeling of the resistance of the water pushing you in the other direction. Use your sculling hands to move left, right, backwards and forwards. The practice your flutter kick lying on your back, get some power in there and get moving. Then finally put it all together treading water. Let me know how it goes and I can give you more tips if you need 👍👍

    It's a balance though because you are swimming less efficiently while you are taking a breath. I sometimes breathe on 5 while I'm practicing technique for this reason.

  • @AaquaticsUK
    @AaquaticsUK6 ай бұрын

    For longer distances it’s important to ensure your muscles are able to perform at their very best throughout as much of the exercise as possible. So any efficient lost in breathing will be gained back in longevity and far surpassed 👍
