    Hi there, a very nice build video, I've seen it a few times now. Do you know the Inside F5J model? If you do, how does this Triple Neo compare to the Inside F5J in terms of flight handeling?

  • @bavarian_rc
    @bavarian_rc4 күн бұрын

    Thanks, great that you liked the video. I don't know the Inside F5J but I checked the specs. According to the data I found I would say that the Inside is lighter than the Triple Neo Thermic and has therefore a much lower wing loading (17g/dm2 vs my Triple Neo Thermic 27g/dm2). The Inside seems to be comparable with my F5K Maverick in terms of flight performance (with the Maverick being smaller of course). For calm days I usually use my Maverick and for slightly more windy days I use the Triple Neo which can handle the wind a bit better. The wing structure of the Inside seems to be also quite similar to my Maverick. The Triple Neo has a much stronger wing structure (allowing for more wind). That's about all I could say. I hope this helps.

  • @Ultramesh

    @@bavarian_rcYes thanks. The solution of course is to get both, lol. I have the Inside on order this week already as there was a deal on it. What is the all up weight of this Triple Neo Thermic?

  • @bavarian_rc
    @bavarian_rc3 күн бұрын

    @Ultramesh Good idea, get both 😜 My Triple Neo Thermic has an AUW of 1281g. The tail of mine got a bit too heavy, so I needed some weight in the nose to balance. You can easily save 100g if you build the tail a bit lighter.

    I only tested it with the original actro-N 28-4-880. I did a quick check in some German RC forums. Some alternatives that are mentioned there: D-Power AL 2835-9, Hacker A20-12 XL EVO kv1039, Turnigy 2210A 1650kv, AXI 2217-20. This might help you for further investigation. I haven’t got any experience with those. You might also want to check ecalc, which is an online tool for finding the right setup for your plane. It is very useful for finding the right motor/ prop combination. Totally worth the money for the full version.

    Happy that you like it. Unfortunately I can't build one for you. The effort (and cost) would be too high. Not sure about the exact time I needed to build one, but 15-20 hours seems realistic. So this is really for people who want to build themselves. There is the batsafe on the market which is similar and is around 80 EUR.

    Auch ich möchte erstmal das tolle Video loben obgleich ich nichts verrstehe weil alles in Englsich ist..schade.. Das Antriebssetup muß wohl echt schlecht sein wenn man ihr mit Gebläse arbeiten muß... Auch mir ist schon ein Actro Motor durchgebrannt im Helios ....

  • @bavarian_rc
    @bavarian_rc15 күн бұрын

    Danke fürs Lob. Das mit der Englischen Sprache hilft mir halt, da ich auf eine internationale Zielgruppe abziele. Der actro Motor ist in diesem Setup am oberen Rand dessen was er aushält. Im normalen Einsatz ist das kein Problem, da nach einem Steigflug eine längere Segelphase kommt. Als ich die Szenen fürs Video gefilmt habe war das natürlich weit weg vom normalen Einsatz. Erstens hat die Kamera oben drauf den Widerstand stark erhöht, speziell die Insta360 One X ist ein ziemlicher Brocken, ganz zu schweigen vom zusätzlichen Gewicht. Somit war für den Steigflug viel mehr Motorlaufzeit nötig. Zweitens war natürlich auch die Segelflugphase durch das erhöhte Gewicht und den großen Widerstand viel kürzer. Also mehr Motorlaufzeit und weniger Abkühlphase. Somit blieb mir nur das Kühlen zwischendurch mit dem Gebläse. Im normalen Einsatz hatte ich bisher keine Temperaturprobleme, ich hab den Triple Neo Thermic aber noch nicht im Hochsommer eingesetzt.

    Hi, Thanks for the answer👍. Yes,i must say it direkt what i mean. In german is much easyer for me😅: Ich meine minute 48:43(video). Du klebst das untere klebeband,ohne das ruder ganz um zu klappen. Wie bekommst du das klebeband in den spalt,sodass sich beide seiten berühren? (Ich habe gerade die selbe Prozedur beim flixx😅) Normalerweise lassen sich die ruder ja ganz auf die oberseite umklappen,sodass eine gerade fläche entsteht,wie bei deinen querrudern,dann kann man das band einfach aufkleben. Aber das tesa in einen spalt reindrücken bekomme ich nicht "sauber" hin😅

    Hi, jetzt ist alles klar 👍. Also schon mal vorne weg, das Anscharnieren mit Tesa ist und bleibt eine meiner weniger beliebten Aktivitäten um es mal vorsichtig auszudrücken. 😂 So wie ich das beim Triple Neo Speed gemacht habe, mache ich es heute nicht mehr. Inzwischen mache ich das so, wie es in der FMT Heft 09/2018 beschrieben ist. Wenn Du das Heft nicht hast, dann schicke mir einfach eine Mail and meine Email-Adresse (siehe Kanal-Info / Impressum). Dann kann ich Dir die Info schicken. Eine leicht abgewandelte Version dieser Methode ist in meinem Bauvideo von den Triple Neo Thermic Flächen (kzread.info/dash/bejne/nqupm62YipzWftI.html) zu sehen (1:01:45). Allerdings habe ich dort die 30mm Streifen alle mit der gleichen Orientierung angebracht, also von Oberseite Tragfläche auf Unterseite Querruder. Hier wäre es besser gewesen abwechselnd auch einen Streifen von Unterseite Tragfläche auf Oberseite Querruder anzubringen. Bei meinem letzten Bauvideo vom Maverick (kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5ebq65ypLvVqbA.html) sieht man das richtig (1:05:41). Beim Höhenruder bzw. Seitenruder lässt sich diese Methode in gleicher Weise anwenden. Mit etwas Übung funktioniert das recht gut. Ach ja, beim Anbringen des langen durchgehenden Tesastreifen am besten das Ruder leicht auslenken, sonst geht das Ruder später etwas schwer, da der Tesa "spannt". Das sieht man beim Maverick Video bei 1:06:43. Ich hoffe das hilft Dir weiter. Schönen Sonntag noch. Ich werde mich jetzt auch in den Bastelkeller begeben, was soll man sonst bei dem Wetter auch machen... Grüße, Robert

    Really? You made THIS and you used 20.000 bucks technology? Are you serious? Only if you can't find anything similar on the market, or it is too expensive, that is OK. And you used A LOT of things, even a 3D printer, to make 2 pieces of clamps? Really? You can buy for 34$ the third hand with 3 hands, with a solder stand, with the paste/sponge/wire stands. With the magnifying glass. And the Chinese thing you threw in the garbage, it is very practical and cheap, it is your problem that you loosen all screws and you are surprised that it is like a limp dick. You can add some rubber washers, you can get any pressure you want, and even a pit bull couldn't take your wires from you. But, you choose to be smart. To make 10$ thing with machines of 20.000 bucks. Congratulations.

  • @bavarian_rc
    @bavarian_rc23 күн бұрын

    Have you ever tried one of these cheap Chinese ones? If it is not that the arms let go then it slips across the table because the base is too light. It is and remains crap. So why did I do it myself? Simply because I can 🤣 If you can’t make it yourself then go on buying that crap with the beautiful magnifying glasses 😜

  • @cyberyoda1611
    @cyberyoda161122 күн бұрын

    @@bavarian_rc I have this cheap third-hand right now on my table. I don't see that the base is too light. You are going to solder, not to fight bulls. If you need more weight, the base is made of iron, so you can put some big magnets which we all used to take from the broken speakers when we were kids (or you extracted them to magnetize your screwdrivers). I can make it to weight for 1kg if I want. I am sure there are some other methods, to drill the hole through the base and to screw it on the piece of the wooden plank. If we need this to put two wires together, we generally need only 1 clamp, the other wire we can hold in hand. But, for less than 4 bucks, these Chinese clams are perfect. Of course, you can use 100.000$ tools, and 400$ of materials, to make a wooden toothpick, BECAUSE YOU CAN. This is exactly what you do. You used 3D PRINTER (???!!) to make a stand for your hand???? Hi-tech to make a wooden spoon? You just need a good knife and a piece of wood. A good branch. You spent more than the best hands costs on the market. The purpose of everything is to make something cheaper, to make something which you can't buy in your country, to make something which can't be bought anymore. Or to make it because you have some special demands, and you want to meet them. For instance, there is the best third hand ever: www.amazon.com/Helping-Soldering-Station-Auxiliary-Welding/dp/B0BQZ25ZT4/ref=sr_1_117?crid=36C0WKRYMDQ98&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Ez51J3FKojgKA8ln_lI36ygS4x7D76OFJ8OQgWF7aS-YiGXgW72tdaiRQmKeOoaO0BfaxUdZfyTYmbmQhdDDZj6NdflXsOR4OiJrhOoWcxPturlyUIswCT_Nsk4jFRxDjbnuUWY7VAlG7gJ_NrHgUXYc5X2aF61D3RkBl_9rSyDShuOz-8IPeV1Le0n3W-vwQ34wTA_VqFhzMYafMnGofnh11Uac6F33A4Y9Rk-bpUmDJKJw1WxIHZSdCuedSv3OoaPeaR-ppOnlQZFoSBY5l7ffIOaZ3-IcWOuMlR1vomo.mHFMQFli_hNJpV94Fprm5QXkDPY-wRdjozPyDGsZTso&dib_tag=se&keywords=helping+hands+soldering&qid=1713272813&sprefix=helping+hands%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-117 The shape is great, the hands are not just cheap clumps, they are pretty solid, they can be folded, and you get the working surface, this is the great thing. It is cheaper than your work.

    Ciao Roberto, I have used a 5-minute epoxy resin /hardener combination. I believe that I do not work fast enough in order to properly coat all parts / roving material and then attach the elements concerned. In the video....is the ratio of 10g resin : 4g hardener applied throughout the build? ( I saw that ratio on the build of the Neo-Speed....simply wondering if the same ratio was applied here in the Neo Thermic Time Lapse video. Am I better to use a 24-hour epoxy mixture? Opinion? Spring has sprung here....finallya day above 10 degrees C. Peter

  • @bavarian_rc
    @bavarian_rcАй бұрын

    Hi Peter, 5-minute epoxy will not really work. It takes around 20 minutes to properly apply the roving, the thickened epoxy on the ribs and the glass fiber. No chance with 5-minute epoxy. I definitely recommend using normal 24-hour laminating epoxy (not casting epoxy). The one I use has 40 minutes pot life, which lets you do all the work without any stress. The mixing ratio depends on your resin system. Usually 5-minute epoxy is 50:50 (in volume). My laminating epoxy system is 100:40 (in weight). With epoxy you need to strictly follow the ratio given by the manufacturer. More hardener to have quicker reaction will not work. In that case the excess hardener would not react and you would get a bad result (might stay sticky). This is different to polyester resin where the amount of hardener can be varied. I never us polyester resin for RC builds. I hope this helps and don't hesitate to come back with any questions you might have. Happy to answer them all! Ciao Robert

    Good day to you and hoping that winter has come to a fine end for the season! At time stamp 37:05 are you using the fibreglass reinforcement with the epoxy mixture or with the fibreglass repair resin? I just want to be clear although it looks like you are using the standard epoxy mixture with micro balloons added. Please confirm when you can.....and thank you once again for such an eloquent time lapse video! Ciao e a presto!!!

    Hi Peter, indeed winter has come to an end. We already had the first beautiful days with above 20°C and the next weekend promises unbelievable 28°C. As usual we are boosted from 10°C to 28°C within only few days. You are right, I am using the same epoxy resin for all. I mix a portion of resin and then put half of it into a 2nd pot, where I add micro balloons and thixotropic powder. For the carbon roving at the trailing edge I am using the standard resin without any additive. On the ribs along the trailing edge I am using the epoxy with the micro balloons. For the fibreglass at the wing root I am again using the standard epoxy. For the ribs again the resin with the micro balloons. Keep me updated on your build! Ciao Robert

    On my balsa build of the Triple Neo Thermic....I have experienced warping of the wings structure. I am using standard carpenter glue and appropriate weight to hold down the layers as the glue dries. is there a remedy for this warpage?

  • @bavarian_rc
    @bavarian_rcАй бұрын

    Hi Peter, on the Triple Neo Thermic I had no issues with warping. In which area is it? There is some chance of recovering the warping during the covering with film by shrinking the film differently strong in order to counteract the warping. Nevertheless you should not expect too much from that. If the warping is really bad you might have to consider removing the part that caused the warping and redo it. Was it caused by the sheeting or was it present before? Were the sheets already warped before glueing? in that case even after using weights and waiting for the glue to fully cure the forces in the sheeting will try to get back to the initial shape which could result in warping. Balsa is normally not so critical but plywood has more power.

    I am curious to see how it will fly. I will remember your comment for the first flights and be careful. Have you tried changing the CG and maybe also the angle of attack of the horizontal stabilizer? Both are connected and have a strong influence on the flight characteristics. If the thin fuselage is not perfectly straight your hstab could be a little bit off.

    Another great build video. I'm curious what the total build time is from unboxing to ready-to-fly.

    Thanks, I am happy that you liked it. Hard to tell what the total build time was. It took me 3,5 months with some periods of more and some with less progress.

    Tolles Video, da steckt sehr viel Arbeit dahinter. Wenn ich mich nicht täusche, dann müsste der Fluss die Wörnitz sein.

    Servus, mal wieder ein geiles Video. Hast du mal vorn den neuen Flixx von aeronaut zu bauen? Lg Tobias

    @bavarian_rc2 ай бұрын

    Danke, schön dass es Dir gefällt. Den Flixx hab ich nicht auf meiner Liste. Die ist auch schon ziemlich lang 🤣 Als nächstes kommt der Maverick von Flightpoint (ist schon fast fertig) und danach hab ich schon mehrere weitere Bausätze zuhause. Sieht also eher schlecht aus für den Flixx, ist aber schöner Flieger 👍🏻 würde mir auch gefallen. Schöne Grüße Robert
