    Verticality is a word borrowed from Satisfactory. It's keeping the 3D nature of the world in mind when building. Don't stay on the ground (2D), but also build up in layers (vertically) and having multiple floors in the factory.

    4:00 There looks to be a path nearby that you could have extended to reach a triple lodge. They have subtly changed the windmills in that you can now place them on the new vertical power shafts. You can't hang Gravity Batteries off the edge of the world, that would be too easy. But there's that housing with a gap at the back which would be perfect to drop three Gravity Batteries down. 23:00 Had you put all the showers parallel you could have fitted seven in total. You've already built enough aqueduct to slightly increase the amount of farmland below. Both the showers and bread provide well-being but I believe bread provides more well-being than showers. The natural overhangs do claim to be impermeable, in fact I believe you can see it in action with the badwater. Still wondering whether that Observatory will ever happen...

    Above the fireplace to the right where the plants are, they can chew down, and you could put an over-hang facing towards the three other over hangs the other way. You could also just make one single levee the lowest priority now so there's always a gap until the end.

    You don't need sluices because you don't have badtides, but for those people that do, they can be set to automatically open or close depending on the contamination level. Their other use is to keep a lake topped up at a lower level than the river feeding it (useful if you want to use the lake for aquatic farming). Slightly disappointed that you never got around to building that observatory. You do have the metal for it but it's also possible to avoid using impermeable floors by building your overhangs a level lower and surfacing them with levees. I'm not quite sure I understood what you were saying about badtides, but supposing you already have a sluice system in place then from the point of view of your fresh water a badtide is like a drought where the badwater source keeps flowing.

    I see You have some hardships with verticality. May I share with You an old structure/strategy for this game? Build a 3-lane road (to make it look perfectly symmetrical). In the middle lane build stairs. On top of this 3-lane road build platforms - You now have a good looking, clean, symmetrical, *INFINITELY* stackable 3D platform road up. You now can easily connect stacked buildings to this 3-lane road - towers and towers of stacked housing and storage. Bot part factories too. Have fun!

    In previous versions having a water wheel layout that didn't match the width of the channel didn't work too well; I wonder whether the latest water physics improves that. Personally I would be tempted to reduce the channel to two wide all the way down including over the (currently) missing aqueduct. Your dam increased the hydration to the left forest except during droughts but it's where all of your log storage is. Once you have haulers you can put food storage around your district but there isn't a good way of housing your beavers near their workplaces. Another benefit of the hauling post is that you can set it to minimum workplace priority so that it will eat the population fluctuations. I believe the water pump depth setting was added in the previous update.

    You can use the 🚫 marker in the crop planting menu to stop them from replanting. It won’t make them remove the crop while it’s growing but once it’s done they will harvest it and not replant.

  • @urkerab
    @urkerab11 күн бұрын

    2:15 You got lucky and a farmer decided to harvest those carrots anyway. (Had you been less impatient you could unmark the crops for planting and wait for it to be harvested rather than trying to "levitate" it.) 9:55 No, you only need 20 gears, so you're just the one short. Water wheels have variable power depending on the flow of the current (cms). If you set a platform at high priority the game will now also set the platforms under it to high priority. (It previously used to set the platforms above it to high priority.) The potato storage isn't automatically displayed in the food menu because they need to be cooked first but also I don't think you have any storage for raw potatoes yet. (The grill actually has a lot of storage for its produce.) You are right that since your beavers were originally at at least +7 well-being (+20% life expectancy), when they got hungry it reduced their lifespan again. When this happens a beaver will die of old age rather than hunger. Now that you've removed that berry warehouse you could also delete the path to it and plant potatoes there.

    The floodgates can be adjusted to a minute level now, the dams should be replaced with floodgates it'll save more water.

  • @urkerab
    @urkerab9 күн бұрын

    Another content creator I watch has problems with flooding if they set their floodgates much above 0.75 which sadly rather defeats the object. Hopefully it depends on the strength of the water source compared to the width of the channel, so it might still work here.

  • @CellTherapyCream

    @10:10 Pause the game, place the dams and then assign priorities to each one. Highest priority to the ones at the far end of course. Then the beavers "shouldn't" get stranded and/or build the wrong dams first.

  • @urkerab
    @urkerab12 күн бұрын

    The overhangs are indeed new, yes. They let you build above buildings that aren't solid. They also let you build flashier aqueducts, assuming you can spare the metal. If you want to go even flashier, use impermeable floors instead of levees (you still need levees for the sides though as there are no impermeable walls). You missed a whole three trees from your cutting area. You can actually build a spiral staircase in a 2×3 rectangle; just remember to keep the stairs in the middle on each side. You will need to connect at alternate ends of the staircase on alternate levels though. I may have misremembered but I think Folktails do use berries to make medicine. If you do try to build a badwater aqueduct, you can still avoid needing medicine by only building during droughts (delete the path ten steps away to stop them building).

    Loving seeing the Beaves again! You need a 2x3 space for the spiral stairs, with the stairs up alternating on the long sides, and then you need to be able to exit into your housing stack on both sides. Squishing it into the corner like you have means you can only exit on one side. I think.

    Where the stairs are for the housing block. Why didn't you put some extra houses in where the platforms are (former farm site) at ground and first floor level. Then turn the rooftop into a 2x3 stairwell for the remaining houses. If you choose to move the rooftop terrace, consider putting that over the other houses, so you get the full 5 set from the original housing

Otherwise, unless your control is perfect, you'll end up with tons of down time on your farms while you're waiting for them to grow.

    Use Levies around the left side of the river to raise it to the level on the other side, then levy/ dam up by the water container to create a 2 level deep part of the river. Also you should've used the space behind the houses with platforms and pushed the houses back to create more space infront.

  • @urkerab
    @urkerab14 күн бұрын

    Rather than micromanaging them, you can usually leave farms prioritised for planting. (The exception would be in hard mode if you were expecting to lose hydration in which case you wouldn't want to waste time planting.) Speaking of hydration, if you use double floodgates or levees and dams to raise the level in the earlier part of the river you may find that more of the land becomes hydrated. Note that floodgates now move in increments of 0.05 meaning that even single floodgates can store 25% more water than dams. You can build an extra lodge on top of the first lodge but facing the other way. Or once you have the science you could just build double lodges facing the other way. (Two single lodges costs 20% more than a double lodge.) When you only have one construction project its priority makes no difference. (Your dam got built quickly because you had planned ahead to already have all the materials you needed.) You can use levees for the floor as well as the side of an aqueduct. (You can now place them on platforms.) Impermeable floors do save on vertical space of course. The agora is basically a renamed temple but you need haulers to haul extract to it. (And extract in the first place!) But the contemplation spot is just the shrine's new name.
