This really works. I stumbled on this wood block approach when I had a hatchet to polish and sharpen. I didn’t know that Cody had already done a video. I’m now going through all of the videos to learn more. I am an Edge Pro fan guy. It is the best system…. BY FAR!!!

Hello to both of you Mr. Dale and Cody, nice overview of the origin and evolution of the EdgePro. It's amazing how much sharpening experience Mr. Dale has. Many years ago, Cliff Stamp had started a friendly contest where he was sending two disposable utility blades to whoever asking for them and the rule was basically sharpening them whatever way to get the highest sharpness and edge retention possible and IIRC blades sharpened by Mr. Dale were the sharpest at some point in time. I don't know how many people participated and if even a winner was ever named... Cliff Stamp not being with us anymore, his website is no more accessible...

Great to see guys! Love that you have taken on so much feedback, especially from us OCD folk who use the angle-cube for maintaining the consistent angle throughout various stone gradations. My only criticism is the weighted base should be included as standard considering the C-Clamp is a poor substitute for the original edge pro's suction base (+ our partners would kill us if we clamp to a kitchen bench and we don't all have man-cave sheds :)
Hi Neil, So we made the C-Clamp as part of the kits because we wanted to keep the entry-level price down as low as we possibly could. They are a fraction of the price and don't cost us any labor cause we can just buy them. The weighted bases are a whole different animal for us to deal with. They are very convenient to use, but very inconvenient for us to produce, ship, and be able to provide them to dealers at a price they can turn around and re-sell. I expect there is going to be a learning curve dealing with the weighted bases, because so far they have been very popular. I'd say there is also a good chance that we might make another set of kits where we leave the C-Clamp out and include the weighted base instead. But if we do that, those kits will be more expensive. Appreciate the feedback.

Makes perfect sense commercially and I'm sure I could work a way to use clamps with some silicon pads, I'm just a bit set in my ways with setup and portibility of the suction base on my current Edge Pro - I have it all in a kit bag with an anti-skid mat and a large low sided plastic tray so nothing moves and water + slurry is trapped in the tray. It's a real credit to your workmanship that my Edge Pro is still going strong after nearly 10 years of use. Total loyalty here and I still want a BevelTech!

Incredible design features. I own both the Apex and the Professional. The BevelTech is a nice fit between the Apex and Professional. If I only owned the Apex, I would buy the BevelTech and mount it on my workbench in my garage.
Thanks Robert. Yes - it is a considerable upgrade for someone who only owns an Apex. I believe it is an upgrade from the Pro as well, but not as significant. But surprisingly - a lot of the customers I'm talking to who are buying the BevelTech own a Pro.
Man, You guys thought of everything! My Apex model is still going strong after 10 years of use. I bought the table magnet and scissor attachment for it and I love it but I may get this one when I get into my new shop! Thanks Ben and Cody and everyone at Edge Pro! 👍
Sweet! Your scissors attachment, slide guide, and small knife attachment will be compatible with the BevelTech. Just make sure we add the scissor pivot.

It is possible, but would require a custom build. The Pro arm is a little bit longer.

I have 10 years on my Edge Pro and have worn out many stones and some knives in this time. Still the best sharpener I have ever seen or used. Love it. Although the new platform makes some very nice improvements. Maybe in 10 more years I will wear out my Edge Pro and would most certainly replace with this new model.

Amazing!!! You took all the feedback from customers and threw in the kitchen sink! I had a lot of add ons to my apex over the years and to see it all there in the Beveltech stock set up makes it a no brainer for anyone needing to sharpen a knife today.

I got customers the same way you did by offering to sharpen one knife for free. Once I made enough money to pay for my $750.00 Edge-Pro I stopped looking for business and just sharpen my own knives or if someone comes to me and ask me to sharpen theirs I'll do it, but I don't promote it anymore.
That's a smart way to build your customer base! It's great that you're able to sharpen your own knives now.

😳🤔New idea...💁💁💁 Excellent interview, thank you! 👍🙏 I've been an Apex Pro Professional user for about 4-5 years and have all the upgrades and stones... I would seriously love to see a new commercial grade pro that has larger stones and longer travel, a more secure knife holder, and a quick flip knife holder. The this thing would be absolutely unstoppable.🔥🔥🔥 It would also be knife to hold 2x6 and 3x8 thin diamond and cbn stones, toss would be utterly amazing!!! 🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙄🙄🙄🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This will be a significant upgrade from the Apex. And it will be similar, but different from the Pro. I think it will check some of the boxes you are hoping for but it may not check them all 😪
Gentlemen, thank you for this video and for your products and services. Seeing the evolution of the Edge Pro products and the business is wonderful and very satisfying. Over the years your library of videos have been super helpful for me. Every time I have called for help you have been more than gracious and helpful...good old fashioned, first rate customer service. I love my Apex sharpener. My knifes are sharper than right out of the box from the factory. Has it been one week since this video was made? I'm really struggling to wait a week for the announcement. Could I have a little hint as to what is forthcoming? Don't make me wait, it's torture by a thousand cuts (pun intended).
