The Apprentice To Journeyman
The Apprentice To Journeyman
Welcome to my channel! My name is Stephen and I’m starting this channel to document my journey of being an Apprentice Electrician to one day becoming a Journeyman. I’m new to the trade, I just completed my first 3 months and I’m excited for what the future holds. I’m very proud of myself for trusting God and making this decision. Grateful for the opportunity & to share my story, Trust The Process..🙏🏽

Love You Mawmaw..🙏🏽💛

Looking at going into an apprenticeship program with IBEW. Doing a 40 hr week + two nights of 3+ hours of class has got to be rough.
@@jsacodes916 It might be tough for you but it’s going to be well worth it in the end.. You Got This..👍🏽
Stay on top of your hydration, my man. Don't want to get dehydrated in that kind of heat. Thanks for doing this video!

Anyone has any recommendations on tutor services to pass your aptitude test?
@@hectorsoso2406 Not really sure my man, but hopefully someone in the comments can help you out!👍🏽
Respect the hustle man! Appreciate all the info you share. I’m thinking about getting into the trade sometime soon. I heard you mention you got the job through IEC. I’m wondering how does that work ?
@@pedrocastillo2822 Appreciate it Brother! The IEC is where I applied too and they have your application in a pool were electrical companies and contractors can decide to hire you. I think I should make a video about I get a lot of people asking me about it! Thanks for support again!
@@TheApprenticeToJourneyman got it. Appreciate the info. Yeah that would be great if you can do that

@@Your_Data_Guy Thanks Brother, Just Grateful as always my man.. Thanks for the support & how do you like the IBEW? I’ve heard nothing but great things about them!
Hang in there man, in a similar boat. Been doing this for a little over 2 years as a career change. Married with a teenager. Between going to school and studying, balancing the home life is tough. Especially when you have those rough weeks where you are exhausted and just want to pass out when you get home and sleep for the rest of the night. But when you have a family you have to keep it going lol
@@mistakev06 Thanks for the advice Brother, it’s definitely tough at times.. They’re counting on me so I have to keep pushing. You couldn’t have said it any better, keep pushing on your journey also & Thanks again!🙏🏽
Wrong set... The M12 are way better.

Just want to ask can I take my journeyman license if I just went to trade school?
@@darrellcordell3298 I’m not really sure how many hours you receive in trade school, But I know you need 8,000 licensed hours too take the test. How many did you receive in the school?

Hell yah bro , in the auto tech apprentice and share ur saving up and excited to get power tools
@@aden6128 Thanks Aden I appreciate it! I’m just Grateful I was able to get a few things.. How is being an Auto Tech Apprentice?
Don't haul a tool bag with over 20lbs. Anything more, get some sort of rolling cart. Don't carry a tool belt with anything more than an electric screwdriver, a couple of screwdrivers, your linesman, a tape measure, and the utility knife. Nothing more. No suspenders. Don't put weight on your back. BTW, to hell with the "tool list", your back is your life - GET A CART!!!!!

Congrats to you! as far as the brands, you couldnt have gone wrong with any of them as an electrician. I run a mix of Dewalt, milwaukee and flex and they all get the job done for me. Enjoy them, love them and do good work brother!
@@grandmastodon2848 I appreciate the support! I haven’t tried Flex before but I’ve heard good things about them, just a little pricey I’ve heard. Thank again for the advice & support!👍🏽
@@TheApprenticeToJourneyman the price is pretty comparable to Milwaukee. However, they do have (til Dec 31, 2024) a lifetime warranty when you register them

That Hackzall won't let you down, it's got a 7/8" stroke depth instead the usual ~1-1/4" of a full sized recip saw but the speed more than makes up for it I honestly grab it more than my two hand recip. As for that 2953-20 and 2904-20 (gen 4 impact driver and the hammer drill) they are beasts but keep that impact driver light! A 2 ah or 3 ah cp high output is perfect. save those 5 ah for bigger jobs. Enjoy! new tools is like christmas all year long. I have the ryobi drill and ID, they came in a 4 tool kit with a 4 inch circ saw and a light. They're still perfectly capable but I'm still rockin an old brushed 2606-20 M18 drill my uncle gave me a little while back. Tools are cool but your skills and technique is what counts most ~ Work Smart
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL Thank you it definitely feels like Christmas! Also thanks for info about the hackzall didn’t know any of that.. Definitely have to continue to work on my skill One day at a time!👍🏽

Way to go brother. I just picked up a hackzall too. No impact yet, but got the hammer drill to start. Hackzall’s great when you’re mad or stressed out and you run that thing in your car without the blade. Sound hits straight to the brain. 😆🫨
