I feel it's a bit of a nice headcannon / detail that Kindness is much older, feel it'd show the way how different types of people attempted to confront Asgore through their own means, Kindness being of course being the Kind Soul would be the one who actually attempted peace with the Monster King which of course unfortunately didn't end well...

I think this musical piece really benefits from mashups. Even in great music mashup edits, there will always be some strangeness to the mix when two or more overlapping variations clash with eachother, due to the biases of their creators they'll never truely sync up. But 'Your Best Nightmare' is music designed to be uncanny, uneasy, unbalanced. The harsh resonance between two (or more) variations of this piece simply add to the discord, enhancing the artistic effect of the music and making it sound truely like it came from a nightmare.
