I did not remember at the time that the great Larry Gelbart was so involved with this series. This would have been a good Sunday evening show, vas the weekend drew to a close. lt was surprisingly detailed in terms of history. Had more energy and wit than l remembered. l was not crazy about the theme song, but it was a show that would have definitely make its own mark, given enough time. Too bad they couldn't have brought McLean in to write and direct.

I loved this show. Even when CBS foolishly decided to place its second season against “The A-Team”, I was a faithful viewer. Had this show lasted five or six seasons, we could had seen LTC Margaret Houlihan make an appearance at the VA. Maybe even LTC Frank Burns? Or Sidney Freeman could had made an appearance. CBS also produced a “W*A*L*T*E*R pilot featuring Radar O’Reilly. Instead of he and his cousin becoming St. Louis police officer, they should had gone to Riverbend and could had been semi-regulars on “AfterMASH”. And remember 1LT Ginger Bayliss from “M*A*S*H”? She should had been featured as General Pershing’s Head Nurse as a Captain. IMO

That ep with Radar is on you tube. I watched it last week. He was to get married, got cold feet, and rushed to Pooter, where the gang was getting ready to leave for the wedding. They talked sense in him, and the wedding was on. That doc in season 1 is irksome, all he does is eat.No nurse should have to be a phone operator.

The previous closing theme may have belonged to "Dungeons and Dragons" since I didn't choose to listen and watch certain Saturday morning cartoon shows. Even though cult cartoon shows were going on strong, back during those days. That's back then during the entire 1980s. Plus, I realized that even Christopher Glenn told us about the very first Thanksgiving, which took place in September 1620. Even though we celebrate Thanksgiving Day in November. The American Indians were resourceful in maintaining food supplies. Did you notice that the "Land of the Lost" Saturday morning TV shows intro is well-known to me? I was also listening and watching the "Saturday Supercade" cartoon series and the "Pole Position" cartoon series as well. 🐉
