Vermont is Gravel
Since long before the label "gravel cycling" was created, Vermonters have been riding their bikes on the choicest dirt roads in the country. We have always known that the best way to get from here to there isn't always a straight line, and the greatest adventures are the ones you never see coming.
Green Mountain Gravel brings you the best in today's gravel cycling from the place and people who were doing it before it had a name.
Get your gear, grab a route and get out on the road.
Green Mountain Gravel is with you. Bike Vermont Dirty.

12k elev. is nuts! 🎉👍
Thanks for the video! I'm hoping to do this event next month, so I am wondering what gearing you or other riders use here. Thanks for any advice
Wait a second. Steve, I'm pretty sure you taught my daughters' swim lessons recently. Like... 100% sure. I've watched a bunch of your videos for recon. When worlds collide! 🤯
Dirt rd not gravel usually graded after mud season.
I used to live up that way.So much fun to see my old haunts. Thanks!
Great tribute. Will there be another ride this year?
My Wahoo was definitely crap until it crapped out altogether.
I often thought of doing that. It got kind of "off road" near Cabot Plains (favourite area). Honda Fit wasn't up to the task.
Lovely video. What a tragic story. Big regards to Mo's friends and family, such a wonderful person it would seem. Best wishes all. Hopefully I'll get back to Vermont to ride the gravel there.
Is the section between Lowell and Albany traversable enough for an SUV? I see there are some parts that are not even really traversable for a bike haha, but would love to take a drive from Lowell to Albany via this road when I'm up that way in a couple of days if it's usable for a vehicle.
Woo, team all-city!
Well done!
the entire planet should look like rural/small-town New England. then everybody would live in pure bliss and ride bikes everywhere. and anywhere you go would be the best riding in the world.
That was a fantastic video
Looks like a fun loop. My son and his riding buddy from UVM took me on a bunch of these roads and trails back in October. If you find yourself on this ride again stop at the barn/intersection at 8:13 in this video. The guys call this "silly echo barn." They stopped at this point on a ride one time and realized when they were talking there was an echo, hence their nickname for the spot.
Very cool.
Thanks for great video. I'm new to Gravel and Class IV riding in VT but have definitely noticed it is nice to be equipped for either around where I live here in Norwich. Any recommendations on a type of tire that might work for both types of surfaces?
40 on the back 🤣
Planning to come over from England to Vermont to ride next September. Your video makes that even more likely, so thanks 👍
Great to hear!
Enjoyable video. I really miss New England.
Come visit any time!
Great talking to you before the ride. Thank you for the interview. See you next year.
Thanks, you too!
Elmore. Beauty spot of Vermont. What a great ride. That pond road is no joke. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
You bet
I’m interested in doing this but not so much for the race. Wondering if e-bikes are allowed?
It's not a race... ebike policy is on our website!
Ufff dura ruta mucha lluvia
¡Sí, seguro que lo fue!
Love your content. Your video comes through so crisp?!?! What camera(s) are you using? I've been pondering picking up either an Insta 360 camera or a DJI Mini drone to start filming some of my own rides. Any thoughts or suggestions on either from a beginner's standpoint? Thanks again for your content! :)
Wow! Where is that location at 1:25? #gorgeous
No spoilers but it's one of our favorite roads! Come ride to find out ;)
Great preview! Looking forward to watching the footage of this epic ride
Hell of a ride man 🎉
Thanks!
What tire did you ride on?
38s
Normally not a fan of music in cycling videos but you totally nailed it!
Thanks!
The staff at the Weston Volunteer Fire department really went above and beyond at that event. They were washing bikes, lending jackets and serving hot coffee and taking pictures. It is hard to believe a few weeks later the station was under 5 feet of water!
Definitely agree. It was a great stop with great people.
Starting off a Gravel Hundo in the rain makes for a wonderful day in the saddle. Did the Wahoo ever come out of its coma? I've had the same issue in the past and it came back with all the data. Keep the rubberside down out there..
I lost the ride that day, but it's been fine ever since /shrug
That was a heck of a day. Wet,dirty and a great adventure. Did your Bolt ever recover. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
You bet
Love your content gentlemen! Ride the rollers to it all Winter long. 👍🏼😎
Thank you!
This was difficult to watch to honest, I can’t imagine what this does to one’s life but it’s a good to know that all this can be fixed and the strong will raise to the surface and just you been on here makes, Me think you’ve just stepped into a strong role. I think all gravel events across all states should pitch in. I wish you the best in this regard and keep us posted. I think any 2024 event will be hugely successful and well supported! 👍🏻🙏🏻
I take it this event takes a back seat while clean up and recovery operations continues.. Stay Strong guys.👍🏻🙏🏻
We are pushing forward!
Oh my gosh that’s really bad, I didn’t realise you guys were hit that bad. I do hope you guys will bounce back! You are in my Prayers buddy.🙏🏻
Thank you!
That's a lot of water, I can't believe I ever got to see the bottom of it. I remember when there was cable cranes where there and seeing equipment moving about on the bottom. People used to come from miles around to look over the side just to see how deep it was.
Gravel ride September 2 Elmore Vermont just signed up limited to 100 spots this ride supports the local convenience store in Elmore , this ride is very challenging. Did it last year loved it , to find this ride just search gravel ride, Elmore, Vermont. It will take it to BikeReg
We are very familiar, one of our favorites -- the Elmore Community Trust Gravel Grinder.
This is when the Gravel community can make a difference for our fellow Americans in Vermont ❤ God bless you all, united we stand
donation on the way. Hang in there ya'll.
historic and catastrophic is a good way to describe it.😞
GOD asks if he has your attention yet. If not more extremes to come!!
Donated!
good chóp
What a tragedy. Your video tribute is perfection. Thanks for sharing.
Moriah, Stevie, Kelly, Jordie and others...all from different sides of cycling, and all lost to us in the prime of their lives and careers. What they also have in common are the communities of fellow riders, competitors, and fans that have come together to keep their memories and positive spirits alive to inspire new generations of riders. This is one reason why the biking community, in all of its forms and disciplines, is so incredibly special.
So sad and unbelievable. 😢
So sorry for your loss ❤
What nice memorial event. Vermont not only has a natural beauty but also the beauty of its people. Thanks for a well done video and take care, Al
