Green Mountain Gravel

Green Mountain Gravel

Vermont is Gravel

Since long before the label "gravel cycling" was created, Vermonters have been riding their bikes on the choicest dirt roads in the country. We have always known that the best way to get from here to there isn't always a straight line, and the greatest adventures are the ones you never see coming.

Green Mountain Gravel brings you the best in today's gravel cycling from the place and people who were doing it before it had a name.

Get your gear, grab a route and get out on the road.

Green Mountain Gravel is with you. Bike Vermont Dirty.

I often thought of doing that. It got kind of "off road" near Cabot Plains (favourite area). Honda Fit wasn't up to the task.

Lovely video. What a tragic story. Big regards to Mo's friends and family, such a wonderful person it would seem. Best wishes all. Hopefully I'll get back to Vermont to ride the gravel there.

Is the section between Lowell and Albany traversable enough for an SUV? I see there are some parts that are not even really traversable for a bike haha, but would love to take a drive from Lowell to Albany via this road when I'm up that way in a couple of days if it's usable for a vehicle.

Looks like a fun loop. My son and his riding buddy from UVM took me on a bunch of these roads and trails back in October. If you find yourself on this ride again stop at the barn/intersection at 8:13 in this video. The guys call this "silly echo barn." They stopped at this point on a ride one time and realized when they were talking there was an echo, hence their nickname for the spot.

Thanks for great video. I'm new to Gravel and Class IV riding in VT but have definitely noticed it is nice to be equipped for either around where I live here in Norwich. Any recommendations on a type of tire that might work for both types of surfaces?

Love your content. Your video comes through so crisp?!?! What camera(s) are you using? I've been pondering picking up either an Insta 360 camera or a DJI Mini drone to start filming some of my own rides. Any thoughts or suggestions on either from a beginner's standpoint? Thanks again for your content! :)

The staff at the Weston Volunteer Fire department really went above and beyond at that event. They were washing bikes, lending jackets and serving hot coffee and taking pictures. It is hard to believe a few weeks later the station was under 5 feet of water!

Starting off a Gravel Hundo in the rain makes for a wonderful day in the saddle. Did the Wahoo ever come out of its coma? I've had the same issue in the past and it came back with all the data. Keep the rubberside down out there..

This was difficult to watch to honest, I can’t imagine what this does to one’s life but it’s a good to know that all this can be fixed and the strong will raise to the surface and just you been on here makes, Me think you’ve just stepped into a strong role. I think all gravel events across all states should pitch in. I wish you the best in this regard and keep us posted. I think any 2024 event will be hugely successful and well supported! 👍🏻🙏🏻

That's a lot of water, I can't believe I ever got to see the bottom of it. I remember when there was cable cranes where there and seeing equipment moving about on the bottom. People used to come from miles around to look over the side just to see how deep it was.

Moriah, Stevie, Kelly, Jordie and others...all from different sides of cycling, and all lost to us in the prime of their lives and careers. What they also have in common are the communities of fellow riders, competitors, and fans that have come together to keep their memories and positive spirits alive to inspire new generations of riders. This is one reason why the biking community, in all of its forms and disciplines, is so incredibly special.
