Interesting. I reached 168km/h with my 2013 NC700S. The max speed in it's registration paper is 160km/h. There is a limiter device (as far as I could google) stated in the registration paper. I presumed it was bogus as the NN700s is A2 category from the factory. No sense in limiting it to A2 with that device... But now I'm starting to wonder. The bike is fast enough as is. But I'd like to ride it as Honda imagined it. I have to investigate.

What is that center console screen? Is it the original but with new software, or a copy with an android tablet or some such behind it, connected to the OBD? Looks very neat, and certainly necessary with this engine 😇

It’s an Android unit that is made to fit an E39 (just google around, plenty are sold online) with the iBus app running on that.

Awesome video, please upload more. I recently bought a stock e39 530i with a manual 5-speed. Do you have any recommendations to perhaps increase hp/power? Apart from obvious things of course like putting a supercharger on it haha.

Put a supercharger on it or swap an S54 in lol. You don’t have many choices except supercharging or increasing displacement. A camshaft is a nice first step, but offers little gains for a lot of money.

M3 Chasing part XDDD this was great, can you upload more? I'm also interested into NA tuning of that 3.0 engines, so you did that 7K rev thing with just an ECU tune? It will affect the reliability no?

Sure, will try to upload and drive more this season 🙂 The previous owner flashed the ECU apparently and moved the rev limiter from 6500 to 7K. Pretty common for M54B30 engines. There was a performance model that came with a 7K rev limiter and the only difference was a reinforced oil pump nut (not sure which, may have been the E46 ZHP). The problem with the stock oil pump nut is that it’ll spin off more easily, and a 7k rev limiter is somewhat counter productive there.

@@bobofsideshow If I was you I would also service the valve springs if you plan on going to 7k more often.. reliably.. I also dont want to be nitpicky but as far as I know theres no "performance" 3L model of this engine. Even Alpina used the 2.8 bored to 3.2 outputting 191kW

@@RealWheelDrive39 valve springs service has already been done. There’s an engine revision planned for later this year. Maybe an E39 M5 conversion down the road. Also there is a performance version of this engine. The E46 ZHP came with it but was only sold in the U.S. The ZHP engine came with an oil pump nut with some string attached to secure it - also have added that to my engine. In addition the ZHP came with different software that allowed it to rev to 7k.

@@bobofsideshow Then I concede my point :D although honestly an M5 swap isnt worth it in my opinion. If anything you could give it some better internals and super/turbocharge - saving weight on the front axle while giving you considerably more power. I can see the reason for getting a bigger engine - an M5 touring would be a nice sleeper. But power is very addictive and its honestly not worth it if you really want high performance out of this old girl.

Interesting. At 6,000 rpm it's going 116.8 mph in 6th gear. At 6,000 rpm my Suzuki Vstrom was going 81 mph in 6th gear. I say "was" because I bought a Honda NC700X. Honda quit making the NC700S unfortunately.

I bought mine used in August. I finally got my license this month, first i was a bit sceptical if this bike was for me.. the shared design with the "maxiscooter" was a bit of a Turndown for me, and overall it looks a bit slow on videoes. But IRL, this bike is an overall Honda masterpiece, i really enjoy this, fast reacting, nimble low Center gravity workmachine, It does everything you ask it for almost perfect. imo we had inline four cb650 2018 at the school. But they were terrible to drive on at the highway, the truck turbulence was dragging the bike around, feels much heavier to steer/countersteer too.. but this one doesnt care much about turbulence, You dont feel it the same way at All. 👍

Vibration is minimal. I have had Yamaha XS500 x 2, Honda 500 Four, Triumph 900 Sprint, Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster, Yamaha XV1100, Honda Transalp, 2018 BMW R1200RT (still have it) and 2016 Yamaha 900 Tracer. The NC700 is smooth all the way up to 160km. Never took it faster.

160 comes in after a long wait with zero head wind, I love my nc but certainly not on the highway. I will definitely try reach 170 kmh not sure I can guarantee 175 indicated. 😅

@@Siergiej.Motorv могут быть разные передаточные числа. или просто чел мог пригнуться сжаться к мотоциклу, а вы нет. на такой скорости сопротивление воздуха играет большую роль.
