Very nice project , just needs a nice paint job as most of the hard work has been done, i did notice the instrument clocks look non original , the rev counter looks like its from a MK2 GT . have fun with the resto its a great car.

Such a great car. Debate Mk3 vs Mk2 - I guess it's the wheel arch extensions vs for running gear! ... Lovely car and great idea for the EPAS. This video is a while ago now. Perhaps time for a remake?

My 78yr old father has one of these mk3s sitting in the garage wasting away since it developed an ignition fault in 2001and I've told him to sell it time after time as he's never going to do anything with it but he keeps on saying that he'll get around to fixing it but I know full well that he won't which is a crying shame.

The first time u get into a Lotus: instantly you notice the moment u turn the steering wheel the car is pointing to that direction the moment you put your foot on the throttle u get a push in the back the moment you touch the breaks the car starts stopping this was my First impression within a minute of driving the Elan getting out of my old Consul MK1 n into a Lotus Its just how it felt once we got out of town n into country lanes then i Knew this was about the Best sports car of its day By a Long way the Porsche 356 E type n Aston where Not in the same class even in the dry, in the wet the Lotus would leave them ALL for dead, still love them as much as the first day i drove one the fun of driving Is a Lotus designed by a genius

axomaticmicha the body is one full piece of fibreglass, sprung over the chassis. nye on impossible to do a body off restoration
apmirkin its a shame the entire body is crafted from fibreglass really isnt it....
I could say Gilbern before daddy, I'd have it over a bugatti any day.
