This was so helpful! I had to change the front bodice piece of a pattern and that totally threw off the shape of the front facing - I didn't know what I was going to do! This tutorial was perfect, I appreciate you taking the time.

Thank you! Literally every other video talking about making a waistband skips this part. They just say: and now put the elastic in, then fast forward to: then you pull it out and sew it together.

Would you need to use pellon to keep the shirt somewhat stiff, or true to form?
@ronkita Жыл бұрын
I have not added stabilizer to any t-shirt to pillow covers and they work out great! You can always add stabilizer if you want, but then you'll need another layer of something behind that so the stabilizer isn't free standing.

If I was going to use the writing from the back. How do I finish the bottom of that piece, cause I'm not using bottom he.?
@ronkita Жыл бұрын
You can just hem the bottom. I have done that with several - just do a double fold hem or overlock and stitch and you're good!

I have several vintage machines (my fave) that don't have speed control, and although it is a nice feature for beginners or younger stitchers, it's not entirely necessary. Getting used to the amount of pressure on the foot pedal takes some time, just like driving! ;)

My bias tape is narrow, so I have to use a small safety pin. Very tedious, because of the short length of the pin. Anyone know of any small width pins that are longer than 1 inch?
@ronkita3 жыл бұрын
How wide is the casing/opening? There are various tools you can use, but it depends on the width/opening.

You can use soap to make a mark, plus it washes out! It would have to be the corner/edge and somewhat narrow, but it would totally work.
