Presto and Hold your Fire Albums are ranked low but my opinion is they are excellent albums! This cover is Fantastic Y'all do a great job the guitar work is awesome everyone is awesome keep up the great work ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Rocky! yeah...
Rocky!
Rocky! YYNOT's original voice...prefer her accuracy vs Adi's 'metal' power belting
Rocky! nice...
Awesome job! One thing I'd suggest though.... Set the high hat at least an 8th inch or maybe a quarter inch more open. Other than that, phenomenal! Love your energy and accuracy.
best Geddy cover ever! as close or closer than anyone's ever gotten! YAY!!
lookit lookit ! big jazz box does RUSH! YAY!!
Howard Roberts Fusion, a la Exit Stage Left. It's a rock (and jazz) monster!
Guitar work here is unbelievable! This is unmatched by anyone other than Alex. I'm just a lowly drummer but even i can recognize guitar brilliance.
She's got it. No better way to put it. Damn!
You guys, and Rocky 😉, have brought the Rush tribute band to the next level. Please try to make your way to Milwaukee's Sumerfest. It's a huge city and the midwests biggest music festival. Please look into it! We love our Rush here!
Are you fucking kidding me!? I've seen covers of ALL of Rush's most popular songs, and their 2nd tear songs. This is a song that doesn't ever get covered, ever. But I've got to say it.... This is THE BEST cover of ANY Rush song I've ever seen, hands down. I get that it's not the hardest song they've ever written, but that doesn't detract from how flawless this cover was, particularly the vocals, which is easily the hardest thing to try to recreate. I'm fucking floored🤯
Thanks Mooky! This one just always feels personal to us. An amazing song.
Awesome job guys! Loved this. ❤️
Great job!
should be a 3 piece sans the vocalist
I didn't think any group of people could cover Rush. Then you. I really loved 'No One at the Bridge'
I remember when that was La Mirada. Great job all of you.
Sounds awesome!!! Keep it up!
I miss Neil terribly....I remember all the 10 concerts I was blessed to have seen. I am a very proud Rush fan and will be until I am one with the matrix.....
Be cool or be cast out....I've been a fan since 1980....thank you for covering my 3 knuckleheads......very well done. Do middletown dreams, which is my favorite Rush song....there I said it!
AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME!!! FANTASTIC!! FANTASTIC!!!! FANTASTIC!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! What kind of stufs used in the guitar effects???
Will you ever come to the UK to tour ?
Perhaps someday! Rocky and Ben were just there in May 24 to perform at RUSHFest Scotland. We had a wonderful time!
Big Rush fan but Hold Your Fire is their worst album.... overproduced and too many keyboards. Glad they started to ditch the keyboards after this album.
Power Windows was more heavily produced and at least as keyboard heavy if not more, yet considered by many to be one of their best albums. We can't agree because we love the 80s phase as much as the other eras, just for different reasons. And one common reason - it's all Rush!
All that good creatively missed. You sir have one too many a keyboard for your own good.
Amazing
Giving some love to one of Rush's most underappreciated songs. And doing a great rendition of it too. Ben King nailed the tricky solo, and I loved Rocky doing the "whoa" (my favorite part of the song, actually). Just so no one feels left out -- Isamu and Mat are virtuosos themselves. Rush is tough music to cover, and you all nail it song after song.
I think the one regret I have about Rocky leaving YYNOT for Mood Lifters is that the latter band doesn't seem to tour very far outside of SoCal, and I'm in NYS. I've been so impressed with Rocky ever since I first became aware of her work. I thought she was phenomenal from the get-go but she's only grown in her vocal abilities. It can be hard to sing Rush because Geddy Lee's vocal style is so idiosyncratic. The best thing I can say about Rocky is that she brings her own style rather than imitating Geddy, but her approach is completely appropriate for the songs. It's a balance very few get right, but she nails it. Plus she knows how to work the crowd. :) I don't want to praise Rocky at the expense of the rest of the band. They do a great job of faithfully playing some incredibly difficult songs. It's not something every Rush tribute band does well. Mood Lifters is one of the top Rush tribute bands IMO and every member of the band has clearly spent a lot of time mastering their craft. Still, I wanted to give Rocky a special shout out. She is impressive, to say the least. And someday I hope to catch a Mood Lifters show. Maybe y'all would autograph some merch for me post-performance?
Sure Bill! And we want to get to NY. It was a goal for us this year, but some other things came up that we just couldn't turn down. It will happen, and many thanks for your kind words!
@@MoodLiftersRushTribute If you make it out my way, please consider playing in Rochester, Buffalo and/or Syracuse. I'm in Rochester and I could actually give you some suggestions about venues you might want to try to book in my neck of the woods (one or two have really crappy acoustics, but there are some great ones in Rochester too). In any event, I'd be thrilled to catch one of your shows. In the meantime, please keep pursuing your own dream with a mission.
Killing it on that guitar solo at the end, sweet! 🎸
Great seeing Rocky Back doing Rush
Great edit
I was there
Awesome, one of my favorite Rush tunes. Great guitar work
Awesome!!!....and that ending solo.....perfect!
Glad to hear you are still a band! Why did you wait so long to post this video??? Really need you to put up more wonderful content !!!
We've been busy cats! Shows all over the place (some very long ones!), Rocky and Ben in Scotland, preparing for Australia in August! We do our best to keep the content coming.
@@MoodLiftersRushTribute That's fantastic ! I was hoping you would come to Northern MN someday , not just California.. And now you are going international ! Hope you put lots of content up after these trips!
❤
Counterparts a fully loaded album. One of these songs would make another bands career.
One of the most beautiful rock songs ever written.
never "yay" people
Never saw someone take "yay" as a personal affront!
@@MoodLiftersRushTribute Rocky was just being her genuine self. It's part of what makes her a terrific entertainer.
Thank you guys for deep-diving Rush. You guys nail this musical heroin.
You guys got me freaking out in my living room. Wow.
Guys, you are ripping my soul up. Beyond amazing.
One of my favourite songs from that album. Excellent cover.
Thanks! We love it too!
What a fantastic rendition. How I would love to see you play this live. On the 1979 Hemispheres tour Rush only played parts ( in those days their sets were just 1.5 hours )
Thanks - We play it live quite often -- and on a couple of occasions, paired it with Book I for 29 minutes of mystical rock glory!!!
@@MoodLiftersRushTribute we are going to the Sydney concert on 21/aug, would love to hear parts 1 and 2 !! Please!!! 🙏🙏
@@markclacy1104 Like Rush themselves struggled with, we struggle with the fact that there is much material we want to play in each show, and we can't play everything. But it is a killer setlist coming your way! Spread the word around Sydney and lets pack the Factory Theatre! Thanks Mark!
@@MoodLiftersRushTribute of course, looking through your recent set lists, they are beauties, so we will be thrilled to hear whatever you play! Australia is in for a treat!!
Mood Lifters, I’ve been a RUSH fan since 1977, first tour was Permanent Waves, with 30 shows over the years and their last show as my last. All I can say is, yes, you guys are spot on musically, and Rocky's vocals, well, are amazing. But what casts you above the rest of the other Rush tribute bands imho (with absolutely no offense to the others), is the absolute enjoyment and honest passion you have for the music and lyrics. It really shows! It makes this old Rush fan happy. And of course, Rocky, you have so much real emotion behind your vocals, that, well, it makes one tear up a bit with happiness, and in missing our boys and in celebration for what you are all doing to pay homage. Much peace and cheers wished upon you all, and to many more years of Mood Lifters success. Right on! 😊
Thanks! We really do love this music like it were our own. We feel privileged and lucky to be able to play it for Rush fans just like us. As Neil said, "the night has a thousand saxophones." To us, that means there is always a place under the stars on any given evening for a performance of songs from Rush's incredible catalog, and we believe there always will be! We appreciate all like you who want to come along with us on that journey.
My first into to rush was exit stage left. I honestly thought it was a girl singing. I was 16 and stoned on hash. Big rush fan since. Rip professor
...😎👍… ❤️🔥🌈❤️
From the bottom of my heart, THANKYOU!!!
Great!!!
Rubbish tribute bands.
Love the vocals.
Somewhere Neil Peart is smiling......
