It's the same story it always has been. Combs was abused exploited by his mentor and when he had much power he himself abused others. You don't come out of the womb being a monster you're made into one. Ps when I saw that video of combs with Justin b I was creeper out. What 35 year old gives a child who doesn't even have a driver's license a Ferrari? Then says oh we are having 48 hours togther but we can't tell you what we are doing??? Wtf???🤮 What do you have in common with a 15 year old. No reason to be hanging out with this child unless you are his father or fam. This is how pedophiles operate. You make your own conclusions I've made mine.

I’m calling BS. A small town is any town that want allow looting and destruction to their city. He didn’t have any idea that more than 100 years ago that courthouse had a terrible history..All the footage was from real looting, from all colors of our country.. I would be on anyone’s side that sang that song. It was happening in our country at that time and he spoke the word! It needed to stop. Protesting is our right, looting and destruction is not! Thank you guys!

Um, it's not a debacle. This is how we are living. We are acting like the biggest fools. I will not lie and claim to be holier, art thou, because it spotlights our stereotypes, which we are clearly guilty of doing. The youth have gone wild, and we are trashy AF! Sure, there are those in the minority that do not act like this, but clearly, the majority haven't gotten the damn memo. We would whine if the show was called something else, yet the outcome would be the same; it's our reality. We act like buffoons! We are never satisfied and we really aren't trying to be better as a whole. I am ok with that because that's darwinism. Success comes with effort not laziness.

I never saw the trailer. I was going through Netflix and was like oh Good Times and clicked on it. I couldn't get past 5 minutes. I said wtf is this niggerery stereotypes gumbo show. I know niggerery is not a word but i was flabbergasted and couldn't come up with anything else. I went and watch the trailer after watching yall video. The trailer is way better than the couple of minutes i saw. I'm hoping that's its more to the show than the little I saw.

Probably. But that doesn’t justify its existence, or excuse it for dragging the name of a classic and groundbreaking sitcom through the mud by pure association. This new show could have been titled anything else at all. Hell, BeBe’s kids the series. The gangster baby feels like he’s ripped straight from that movie

Great episode. I’m not gonna watch it, but I’ve heard from people who have watched it who said it’s not good. I feel as though what the original “Good Times” represented for the culture cannot be replicated. It shouldn’t be touched on. I also liked the points brought up about the creators background and where are they getting this information from . I also wonder who is show for? Like who is the target audience? why did we need to show? I agree with the point about Hollywood is just running out of ideas. They just make money and capitalize ideas has already been made(hence why people just put their name on projects without really being involved). I think we’re passed the idea of blacks in the projects and in the hood ( we’ve had shows like that) , even though there are still some Black people who unfortunately who still live in a projects, but it could be touched upon in a totally different way. but at the same time you know, I don’t think we want that representation because it’s so much more than that.

It's almost like our government and mainstream media want division in this country. Why? Because if we all came together as one. We would be bigger and stronger than them. That is too scary for them, so why not try to keep us divided by pushing the whole hate and racist narrative like has been going on. In my 53 years, I've never seen the crap like what is being pushed nowadays.

If Darrius Rucker sang the same song, then nobody would have ever said anything bad about it. BTW. Jason did not write the song, just like most artists don't write their songs. I would question the writers and producers over their concerns and not Jason. Producers are who decided what, where, and how the videos are made

@@eddie5156 Lol! of course he knew. Directors go over story boards with artists all the time. In my entire career, I have never known a single artist that ever shot a music video and they didn’t know what the elements of the video were going to be. I understand you’re defending his “ignorance” (dictionary definition, not derogatory definition). That’s what Jony was referring to when he feels that Jason and the video director were [culturally] “tone deaf”. And that isn’t anything necessarily to place fault or blame. It just wasn’t thought through as deeply as possible more than likely because of the passion of his intent, which definitely wasn’t racist or anything like that. I mentioned in another comment that I would have missed at the courthouse as well because I wasn’t aware of its history. If I was, I would like to think I would mention that including it might not be a good idea/ But anyway, like I said, this whole thing is becoming one big distraction and being made into a mountain from a tiny little mole hill. Thanks for your comments and engaging.

@lifeonpodcast the whole courthouse thing is a whole different thing. The bad part is that pretty much every old government building, courthouses, and many others have a bad history behind them, including the White House. No matter what the history is. We can't change it. We can only make sure that it never repeats itself

For Democracy to work, it is imperative that you be willing to give and take. Is it truly Democracy when everything is an echo chamber and wanting you vision to be the only correct way of doing things? I enjoyed this commentary from you two. While I agree that not all small towns are the same, for the most part small towns do have a sense of community. I grew up in one. Yes, there was a "sundown" town about 30 minutes down the road. However, even there the community stuck together. It is less about whether a small town is multi-racial, racial, or whatever, it IS about being a close knit community regardless of the town's philosophy.

I have family in the industry but I would love to do things for myself as far as putting the work in!! However, the only way I know how to get an agent is calling or actually going to the building to speak with someone. Regardless I will make it happen. If there’s a chance Chris will see this message I hope to join the family as a client.✨
