    Another fact due to genetics: Orange tabbies are more likely to be male.

  • @catcuriosity.
    @catcuriosity.21 күн бұрын

    Indeed, due to genetic factors, most orange tabby cats are male. This interesting genetic trait is something we also cover in another video about male cats. You can find it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pIWClZuyeb3dntI.html . It’s fascinating how genetics play such a significant role in the characteristics of cats. Thanks for highlighting this fact. After this video... I'm certain. Next yearly checkup vet visit with my male cat.. I'm going to have his gender changed to female. He is an attention seeker, 24/7 by my side. He doesn't fight, he doesn't growl.. he rather jumps high up from being spooked. He does hunt some flies, but he also gives up rather fast. I play daily with all the cats and their food is given in a bunch of those intelligent toys ^^ perhaps he is just the lazy kind XD and clumsy. He is half orange, half white. All my cats are sterilized. Might have something to do with it..?

    That's a funny way to describe your cat's personality! It's interesting how our furry friends can sometimes behave unexpectedly. It seems like your cat has his own unique way of doing things, which makes him even more lovable. The interactive toys and the way you interact with him are great for keeping all your cats entertained. Each cat has its own personality, and getting them spayed or neutered can sometimes help with certain behaviors. Thanks for sharing your experiences - it's obvious that your cats have a loving and fun home!

    I love my orange male cat Titan...he is over 1 years old and i didn't have him clipped because i wouldn't want anyone performing castration on me. But he is my best bud...follows me everywhere and begs me to go outside. I'm scared to let him out..love him too much to lose him to the world. Going to eventually. I take him outside currently on a cat Leash which he hates😂

    Pretty much accurate your comment. My male 13 yrs old. Independent, not a lap cat, likes to eat several times a day, I don't leave dry food around but give him soft, natural food as fish , poultry, he loves playing and has a few runs after eating, he gives head but on my hands, he likes to lay in windows and enjoy the sun he likes to hide for his several naps a day he ates getting pick up must chase him to take him to the vet and or has his nails trim, it is a nightmare. I thought him a few words like food, treats, play time, sit, and give me 5 for treats and he does use is left paw. He's a shelter cat and I adopted him living with me now for 2 yrs. He has no teeth except 2, thank God he cannot bite me during the chase...he's in good health and great companion. We speak to each other in human and cat languages. He likes cuddle near me during bed time. Best companion I ever had! Magoo is a true Feline😺

    I adopted a male tuxedo kitten 8 years ago. He was abandoned by his former owners when they moved house. I rehomed him because I was also homeless before that and he also has anxiety issues like me. He is desexed and is an indoor kitty. He is very protective of me and very vocal. He drinks water from the kitchen tap and from my hand. He is not a very cuddly lap cat but will curl up with me in the cooler months. He often sleeps on my bed when he thinks I am asleep. He protects me spiritually. He once chased a shadow demon out of my bedroom. When I was dating, he attacked two guys in the genitals. One time, he stood between us. He also sprayed inside a bag belonging to a former boyfriend. Another time, when a man stayed overnight, he jumped off my balcony on the third floor because he was jealous. He is not fussy. He lives on water and kibble. Since I adopted him as a kitten, he has refused to drink milk or eat human foods. The only canned food he will eat is sardines in tomato sauce. If I open a can to eat them, I have to share them with him. That is his treat. He is better than my ex husbands. He appreciates everything I do. When I go shopping, he inspects the bags and gives his approval. If I clean the house, he rubs my legs. He gets along with dogs and kittens, not grown cats. If any cats turn up on my doorstep, he chases them away very aggressively. He is on my apartment lease, he owns the house, I just live here. LOL

It's beautiful to see how much he means to you, especially given both of your past challenges. It sounds like he truly considers your home his kingdom, and you’re just living in it-LOL! Male Ginger cats are so chill. Took in a stray, dirty, hungry. He settled in right away (Peaches) and our toddler daughter was too rough, but he would just lay there and look at us.. Help? On the other hand we had rescued a runt of an alley cat Tabby with Maine Coon in him. Fed him pablum till he was ready for solid food. For certain king of the castle. Rocky Dominate. Usually getting in to trouble. Then a few weeks later we adopted a pure white DMS who tended to explode in fur when exited named him Snowey. He lived under the sofa for the first month. But he settled in seven months younger than his 'big brother' just a hair younger than our daughter. That shy skittish kitten was the strong silent type until someone rubbed his chin and got his motor running. Both were taken to the vet. Neutered and fed high protein kitten food. By the time they were five yo they weighed 13 & 14 pounds each. Snowey was built like a nose tackle on an NFL team. Rocky grew into his tufts of fur, legs tail, belly, head. They had established a pecking order. They both had plenty of food, treats, but Snowey waited for Rocky to start on his plate, before touching his own. Rocky wolfed down his food as if someone was going to take it away. When he finished Snowey stopped and walked away from his meal and let Rocky finish it. They were both healthy and well fed. It was 18 months till we rescued Peaches. However we could not keep three cats and Peaches was put up for adoption at a no kill shelter. He was a very chill and sweet tempered. On the other hand Rocky, you can take the cat out of the alley but can't take (entirely) the alley out of the cat. They were 17 & 16 when they passed. Rocky was vocal. Snowey only rarely. Snowey was a head butter.

    I don’t own a cat myself. No, instead, the male cat who lives next door to me decided to just enter my home out of nowhere one day and hang out like he owned the place, and we’ve been buds ever since. We know his owners/our neighbors, and they’re perfectly aware that entering other people’s homes is just something he does. And ever since, whenever we’d meet him outside our home, we’d invite him to come on in and make a loaf of himself on our couch and take a nap until he decides he’s ready to go back to his actual home. We don’t even feed him anything precisely because his owners have a message on his collar specifically warning not too because he’d never leave otherwise. But chilling with us and getting some scratches from his neighbors seems to be enough for him. We love you, Dotori. Come around anytime, you furry goofball.

    I’ve often wondered if cats could be right or left pawed like humans. Thank you for this information! Most females are right pawed while most males are left, fascinating!

    My neighbour's cat didn't like being approached. Happiest when left alone but with me near. He also approached for cuddles. His favourite cosy spot was up high on the back of the armchair with a view out the window where he could knead the back of my neck whilst I read. Now I understand.

    When your cat can tell you understand them and you treat them like a buddy rather than like their boss, you find out how special they are and how interesting they can be. Sometimes you even find out they become protective of you and will even follow you on walks. When they admire you, you get to see a lot of good character out of them as well as closeness.

    You're right, female cats can definitely be territorial as well. While it's often noted in males, especially those that aren't neutered, females also have their own territories that they defend. It's important to recognize the behaviors shared across genders. Thanks for highlighting this!
