I have 2 cats, both rescues. When they go...I will do what my buddy did. He went to a shelter and simply asked for the cat that had been there the longest! He didn't care if it was a he or she, didn't care what it looked like, just that it was the longest resident of the shelter! That choked me up, good guy my buddy is! More people need to do this! Make it a thing people! Cheers...

I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American and male. When I was a boy, I wanted a white female long-haired kitten, and wanted to name her Princess! Instead, I adopted a brown female tabby, and I call her Princess!

Money is my second female cat I’ve had since having cats since 1980. She’s just so adorably sweet and a lap cat. She tilts her head slightly to the left when she observes like she’s a scientist trying to figure something out. She’s almost four years old and has the cutest little baby face. Her brother is just a bigger version of her. She won’t go to bed until I give her night cuddles outside my bedroom. She’s the type if she could, she’d burrow under your skin. She’s my baby girl.

Truly had a female father was this orange Maine coon barn cat looking fella, the mother was grey /white short hair. Smokey was silver white with green eyes and the maine coon fur. Spectacular. She could vocalize, in fact she learned the word out. To wit I'd open the door and she would go back and lay down. Till I closed the door. Then she was right back. "owwt". Took me a few minutes to figure out she wanted the door left open to come and go. She went out on a harness. She had other ideas.

Regarding orange female tabbies being rare: After I learned that years ago, I began to realize that most orange tabby cats in cartoons are male! Garfield, Heathcliff, and the lesser-known Japanese cat named Michael (What's Michael, by Makoto Kobayashi)

I have a small farm were a lot of cats have shown up. I have had over 100 cats spayed & neutered over the past 25 yrs. I have 36 cats living here now and they just keep coming. Please spay & neuter your pets and quit dumping them off on farms thinking they will be okay living there. I have a heart but most farmers don't and the cats just have to learn to survive on their own. 😿

Firstly, thank you for your incredible dedication to spaying and neutering over 100 cats in the last 25 years. Your efforts have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the well-being of many felines. It's heartwarming to hear about your commitment, especially with 36 cats currently calling your farm home. Your message is crucial: spaying and neutering pets is essential, and abandoning them, especially on farms, is not a solution. It's a tough reality for many animals. Your call to action is important, and hopefully, it inspires more responsible pet ownership. Thank you for sharing your experience and for your enormous heart. 😿❤️

@@catcuriosity. a really awesome story of my cat. I had her for 3 days. Didn't know what to call her. The Cat Goddess approached me and offered her name for my new little kitten. I knew I should have made a video of her choosing her name. I have her 3 choices Athena, Artemis then Bastet. My cat Bastet knows who Bastet is, she'd seen the Great Cat Goddess approach me. The kitten didn't respond to Athena or Artemis. But responded to Bastet. Bastet is Apollo ginger kitty's Sister. They're 3 this year in December.

Two cartoon storybooks where the orange tabby, and Tortie are REVERSED: Little Little Golden Book called "Four Little Kittens," the one female kitten was an orange tabby named Muff! And, "Lucrecia Ann on the Oregon Trail," she has a cat named Benjamin, who's a Tortie! Both are older books, so maybe back then, people didn't realize those colors and what gender those cats tend to be.
