Gli insulti "Ago-Dago" e "Ago Daisy" sparirono dai titoli dei giornali americani, il giorno dopo la gara The day after the race, the racial slurs "Ago-Dago" and "Ago Daisy" disappeared from the american headlines

«A metà gara ero già in testa. «General Motors gave me a car with the inscription "Agostini 13 times world champion". But Kenny Roberts, US champion, said in an interview that America is the world, not Europe. So he was the world champion. I was hurt, but I didn't retort». Kenny added, "I eat it raw." «Halfway through the race I was already in the lead. But I was dehydrated, I was looking for the sweat with my tongue to have a liquid. I wanted to stop but Daytona was full house: I would have disappointed everyone. I went on and this explains how much head and grit count. In the end I couldn't stand up, they gave me a drip. On my way to the awards, I met Roberts. I said to him: "Do you understand who is the world champion?". And he: "You're not human"».

I first saw this move when I was 9 years old and did not understand who Robert Mitchum was portraying (only "real person" I recognized in the film was the actor playing Eisenhower). As an adult, I have read several accounts of General Cota's leadership and actions on that beach that morning. They could not have picked a better actor to play Cota than Mitchum. He should have received some type of an Academy Award.
