I'm Danish and I remember vaguely watching this in the 90's as a young kid. My dad was treated for cancer, and there was a TV room at the hospital where me and my sister could be entertained, and the selection of cartoons were limited, but they had this (and other soviet cartoons for some reason). I remember not understanding the words, but I still loved it! This brings back so many memories, good as well as bad.

The tragedy is that Tuor and Turin did not embrace on there chance meeting. Turin was cursed by Morgoth. Tuor protected by Ulmo. I expect on coming to Gondolin he would have learned about Turin and regretted not greeting him. The black sword was not unknown in Gondolin. Turgon should have taken Hurin in immediately on his return. He hesitated then asked Thorondor to bring him in but it was too late. At least his nephew Tuor was safe in Gondolin

The animation style looks like the one from the animated Lord of the Rings movie from the 70s. Where they add animation over a live action reenactment. Makes it look 3D. Like this.

It's called rotoscope, and it was very popular with Soviet animation studios at that time. It's so elegant! *edited for spelling

The original Russian version is completely different. The authors of this English version have changed the original in their own way. The songs from the original were completely different. This is a Russian folk tale, in this version the songs and music are the same as in the English cartoons. Look at the original and compare it. The text was translated using Yandex Translator. Original: Царевна лягушка 1954

I don't want it to seem like I put effort into these videos, because it would be a lie. It's also appropriate that you're lectured by a toddler. Not only because of the megaboy avatar, but also since you're interested in AI.

Tolkiens language makes the imagination run wild in his story. Fabulous and awe inspiring. Timothy and Samuel West narrate this like bosses.

Brilliant and complete version of this narrative, I bow low, Elf-friend. I have done something similar with the Beren and Luthien tale on my channel, although I included music and artwork to follow the story. I was hoping to do something of the same sort with the Fall of Gondolin too, but I had since come across your compilation and felt as though I would be treading on your toes by doing something all too similar. However, I've been asked to do it by somebody, and creatively speaking I would find it cathartic to get my ideas out of my head. I was wondering if you would give me your blessing first so I can feel more comfortable about the whole endevour. How would you feel?

Beautiful fable about how evil only seeks to use and control others for profit and self glory while the soul remains hollow. "Fields of Wheat and Honey" is but the fur and saliva of the Golden Dragon, whom is but a chariot of the gods. God Herself is Source and found in each strain of grass while Her children stumble over beetles because they know not to "care for the smallest of these" and the men stomp on spiders and snakes because they know not the value of these because all the appointed gods (rulers) of this land have led us astray.

How so? There's no way you can fit the big chords in a scale, but you can use the scale intervals to up the tension or relief. Restricting yourself to the notes of one scale reduces possibilities. This is the best way to get the best of both worlds.

Does anyone else remember an older original English dub of this? The VHS was released between the late 80's-early mid 90's. The voice actors had an older sound and the soundtrack was more in line with the original Russian version. I have been looking everywhere for it with no luck.

Your comment is relevant. The act of giving is an ego booster. Receiving praise that is either not warranted or said in jest boosts the other person's ego and lowers your ego in relation to them. An ego power struggle, only two exceptions: Sexual interest Genuine awe of a person's work Assuming you didn't praise the voice to ridicule me or make yourself feel better about yourself. You're likely sexually attracted to it, asmr whispers late at night about degrading stage performances. The most mature social response again is accepting the compliment and focus on the goal, not care about if the person's ego was boosted or if the compliment was told in jest. Also possible that you saw the video, felt awkward about it and decided to leave a compliment to boost a sense of having lost some of your ego. Either way, knowing the ego level of a fictional character and their pattern of choice they fall back on when their ego is attacked is a good way to add depth to a character. A character that frequently compliments or smiles at people even if it's inappropriate likely is in need of an ego boost. The joker from the batman is a good example, absolute loser with a low ego so he smiles. Which boosts his ego.

Great to see another Rog fan 😂! I don't know if there's a definite answer to this, but it always seemed to me he had a very un-elfy name. I imagined he was given another name, maybe by his orc overseers while slaving in the pits. Then he escaped and kept the name as a reminder of his time as a captive and determination to avenge himself and the friends he had to leave behind. Good ol' Rog. Legend.

OH MY GOD!! When I was young I had a tape with this animation and I had watched like a million times… one random day it came to my memory and since then, in the past few years I’ve been looking for it online but couldn’t find it because I couldn’t remember the title… after a ton of research FINALLY HERE IT IS!! Such nostalgia!!❤️❤️❤️
