Hilarious but awesome! At least they are been ate! I live on the Kootenay river and regularly hook pike minnow ( also called sqaw fish but this racial term is diminishing), some upto 10-12lbs. Thats where your good fillets will be. I havent tried eating myself but you can have all of mine lol!

Try using ultra light fishing for the pikeminnow

They are definitely more fun on the ultralight and I do use one for them, but unfortunately my ultralight was out of commission when I filmed this lol.

Congrats on the new species. I still haven't caught a brook trout. Those looked like prickly sculpin. Dots on first dorsal. I agree water shoes are essential. Nice microfishing adventure. 👍

Cool video. I am surprised you are allowed to spear fish there with all the regulations. Use a spoon for scaling or the side of the fork. If you do it in a sink full of water the scales don't go everywhere. Dinner looked good. 👍
