There is a mod to the PVC valve to get more ventilation to the engine. Drill your pcv valve out top 7/16 hole, and bottom 5/16 hole. This will increases the ventilation to the whole engine witch I read is not the best when they built the 3.6 VVT Direct Injection engine.

Also clean the PVC all the time, it will help the inside of the engine a lot.

Thank you Boss Auto for your video. It was very informative and helpful. I have a 2017 3.6 , I’m trying to increase its life. I change oil every 5k - 6k miles. When should the spark plugs be changed for that engine? Keep up the good work.

its not just the crankcase breather and the oil life intervals . people need to take their cars to high rpms once and awhile because they need to get the oil moving around the engine and thats only done at high rpms. dear god dont use flush because that will cause leaks . use good oil , change it every 4 to 5k and take it to high rpms atleast once a drive

I have a 2015 impala 3.6 with 75,000 miles. I change my oil every 4-5,000 miles. I use the Napa gold oil filter as well. As far as the engine breathing, the rear bank of the engine has a breather tube on the valve cover, but it is not removable. I learned the hard way on that. I'm guessing periodically i can run a piece of wire down that tube and keep it open. I never have any oil in my intake or on the butterfly. I don't have issues with the engine using any oil either. So far, it's a great engine. I'm thinking about adding some engine flush before my next oil change. My brother had a Buick with the same engine. His engine coded with the dreaded timing chain issue, and started mis firing. He drove it, after I warned him not to. Big mistake. It threw a rod through the block. That was a dumb move.

I just bought a Chevy 2024 premier blazer. I’ve had it for a little while now and I drive it to work around 8 to 10 miles a day one-way. I pulled it in my garage and change the oil at 2000 miles and that oil came out really black at 2000 miles so believe it or not I will be changing the oil at every 2000 mile intervals I know that’s excessive but I had a 1987 Chevy pick up with a 350 in it throttlebody injection and I changed you on that every 2000 miles, I had the engine for 425,000 miles and I still have the truck today with the same engine no problems and it doesn’t burn oil. I know the engines different than this one but I will be changing the oil just like that I can’t believe how black the oil got 2000 miles if you could use the GM oil monitor in your car all they want you to do is make sure it gets past the warranty and then you’re on your own. Thanks for your video. I’m sorry about the car but this is what I have now thanks again you really explained it well.

If our government wasn’t a mistress of the auto industry it would step up and make Ford replace ALL of these engines so strapped families who put their faith in Ford wouldn’t be stuck in an impossible place. But, this administration is more interested in paying for college loans for students who don’t have the burden of providing for a family like so many owners of Ford cars with this crap design. Come on Biden…..quit supporting potential voters and have the balls to go up against big industries sneering at us consumers as they sell us unsuspecting customers their crap!!

Yes Sir engine flush with every oil change. My 2014 impala gets 2 oil changes a year. Nov & May so I'm ready for winter & summer. My tip is to jack the car up on the driver side about six inches and let it drain for at least 1 hour. Or until you can count to 30 without seeing any oil drip out. The oil drain plug is on the passenger side facing the rear of the car. I drive about 10000 miles a year.

I have a 2011 Buick Enclave with 184k miles on it. I follow the factory oil change guide (7,500 miles) and infrequently add a ceramic additive. I think changing the oil every 5,000 is a prudent suggestion. I also encourage replacing the PCV valve and breather tubes every 75k miles. Enlarging the breather holes on the PCV valve is strongly encouraged.

But they choose not to .....to knock you over the head for 8-10k at dealer ship. Id take the the interchiller cooler set up from q50 3.0t and modify for the Maxima and Altimas. And change fluid every 9mos. Amsoil cvt trans fluid as well. Suspect Nissan made fluid to fail suddenly as well lol it
