Love that you mentioned not to mess with the ridge on the lens when you remove it. I saw a guy pick at it and when he resealed it, he didn’t have a a nice perimeter line. It was all choppy with black spots

No they are plastic welded so you have to use a dremel to cut the housings

I used white but I highly recommend using Diode Dynamics red halos in 90mm and 110mm. You can use an 85mm as well for the smaller circle, I've found 90mm fits tight and requires some force to get into place.

So I did this and I wired to the black wires and it seems that maybe these wires get less power than the others because the halos are pretty dim and I noticed the black and white wire are a little bit bigger, not sure is this true?

Hello, I have noticed this as well. I've been meaning to test other wiring methods to find the best light output, but I'm 100% certain the power running from the led board is feeding the halos enough voltage. Further testing will be done once I start working on more tail lights.

Did you ever upgrade your led rings? I did mine and like you mentioned during the day they are hard to see. During nightime i have no issues. Wondering what rings to get this time to make sure theyre nice and bright during daytime.

Yes, they do. They have 3 different brightness settings, 4 if you count off. Running lights are lowest, then turn signal, then brakes are brightest. Just saw your comment, I've been away from youtube for a while.

Nice Work but i have a concern how behind the white halo ring the light RED where they come from? Did you leave some red led connected? i not follow this step by the way which halo light you mention bring or illuminate perfect on sun light during day?

So the white halos look red because of the red tail light lenses. And for the brightest during the day I suggest using Diode Dynamics or Profile Prism halo rings. They cost a lot more than amazon LEDs but they are much higher quality.

13:48 I went with Rustoleum engine enamel. It left a really glossy finish, looking back I would have went with something a bit more satin. Really any paint should work fine, I would avoid cheaper stuff as it might chip later down the line
