My jaw actually dropped when you explained Kai threw the ordinaries into the desert because I immediately thought of the Armenian Genocide lol. Then you mentioned it and I was like THANK GOD someone also thought about that. actually gross how the author didn't think about how awful that still sounded 😭

my biggest question reading the book was why did kai have to torture that 1 guy to death for information when a few chapters before he told paedeighn the king had mind readers working for him .-.

I almost completely agree with you but why do you keep practically begging to be on EFAP? Do you actually think this video is something they'd even care to debunk? What makes you think any of them have ever even read Drinker's books or would care enough to talk about them if they had? Seriously, as a former EFAP viewer who's knows they have no reason to want to weigh in on this conversation, it just comes off as cringey and as if you're begging for their attention. Just because they're friends, doesn't mean they're going to blindly white knight for Drinker over a book probably none of them even know the name of. By continuously joking about the EFAP crew responding to this video when they barely have an any relevance to the topic in the first place, you come off as an attention-hungry fanboy or a self-important prick (not unlike many of the members of EFAP) anticipating an inevitable response from them that's never coming. While I highly doubt you're either of those things, if EFAP were to actually react to this video they'd immediately and justifiably make fun of you for seemingly trying to will some kind of drama with them into existence. Anyway, you're almost definitely not going to read this comment and I'm probably the only non-Drinker/ EFAP fan to have this issue with your otherwise great video so I guess it doesn't matter and I typed this comment for no reason. Yippee.

In praise of shadows 2.0. You insult his appearance and take very long to discuss his book. I understand genuine criticism but this just comes across as petty jealous spite. You spoke about how much money he makes before you spoke about his book? You come across as a petty in praise of shadows clone. Cringe af.

Thanks for tearing apart this book. I despise The Critical Stinker (as I like to call him), as someone on the autism spectrum I was hurt by his ablest remark toward Gray in his Jurassic World "review". I'm glad to see more people calling him out every day. Also as an aspiring writer, this was helpful to for me.

My brother in Odin's Glory do not review video games that are of a genre you dislike because it subtracts from your point especially when you can't disengage the general displeasure of playing that type of game with the other points of the game, Baldur's gate 3 is a game that has a fantastic story and an incredible amount of depth it is a game that you can quite literally sink hundreds of hours into and find new things every time and not just new items or new things but new quest lines and new ways to complete story beats that you didn't notice before, (I just realized after almost 560 hours that you could sneak into the goblin camp and never have to talk to anyone if you didn't want to.) It's also a game with a fantastic story it does what it's supposed to do for a game that is trying to be a dungeons and dragons game. You have romance you have intrigued you have monsters galore you have a world threatening plot that you either have to disassemble or integrate yourself into, it's a story that gives you the avenue to be who you want to be, The gameplay turn-based combat I'm going to be honest I typically hate turn-based combat because it generally annoys me, but I personally enjoyed it in baldur's gate 3 because of the idea that I went into the game with which was play on the lowest difficulty and learn how d&d works. Because generally when I'm playing a game that I don't have the base knowledge of I try to ease my way into the swing of things, I will do that one or two ways personally I either research or I go in completely blind and let myself humble until I need help figuring certain things out like I was playing sorcerer which is what is given to you if you select dark urge. That was my first run through the game and that was a fun run through because I like the idea of playing a character that was originally pure evil there was no hint of good in this person but because of their... Niece? Sticking a knife into your brain you come out of it better and I loved the romance with Shadowheart because of her just being so sweet, and then having this story beat of I am going insane having to fight against my instincts and then I have this sweet mooring point is that I'm anchored to and I have to try to make myself better for it gave me a story thread that made me enjoy the game more. But back to the gameplay I didn't have a lot of difficulty because I used the quick save system the way they kind of intended which is I saved a lot and it allowed me to go through the combat easier when I made a mistake, now my only issue is when I get really unlucky and then I just can't hit the broad side of a barn which I've already experienced in XCOM back in the day which is one reason I don't like turn-based combat lol, Generally I think it's a good game it does a lot of things well and with the attribute system the way it is the combat is not as bad as it could be especially as you progress through the game you see why they stopped at level 12 though because if you could get stronger than what you ended up being at the end of that game you would be God also because it would change the story because if I remember correctly level 13 gives clerics the ability to resurrect people.

So...In my own world, the Pyroxene Drow would have a religion that: -Forbids mummification. Like, hard no. -Believes that being in pain is a gift to the gods, leading to self-harming contests including all social orders. -Their religious also strongly values things such as altruism, protecting the environment, teaching to the next generation, protecting those who are weaker, exetera. However, consent isn't a key factor, and they believe that their bodies should serve their clans (they practice a worship of the dead that's quite private), and that they should suffer. Meanwhile, they believe that it's not the place of mere mortals to enjoy the suffering of others, and find torturing others to be deeply traumatizing for all parties involved. It's a religion of sadness rather than devine wrath. -Their most important religious teaching is: "You, the Drow, fill the caverns with life and you shall never be hungry." -The Drows, as a society, secularly, tend to believe that taking into account the opinions of others is something very vulnerable, and worriying about one's reputation is a sign of weakness. This so prevalent that to a Drow, a teacher praising their students for good behavior would be seen as something deeply violating to all parties involved. However, for their society to function in any capacity, morals based on "the gods said so", religious guilt, empathy and corporal punishment become necessary alternatives to a sense of shame as social regulators. -The priests of the four gods provide essencial services to the public, such as education, medicine, maintaining civil order and even certain textiles. This is precisely what allows the priestly orders to stay in power. The priestesses of Héwwa, for example, play the vague role of policing and education on reading, botany and protection magic. The priests of Moortus become necromancers (well, more like psychics, communicating with the dead rather than controling them), historians and they also teach law, mathematics and rhetoric. The priests and priestesses of Helisa are required to learn healing and textile work and practice it. The priests of Putruus are often in charge of funeral practices, charity and of helping ex-slaves and ex-criminals re-enter normal society. Now, the Drow see individuals who refuse to constantly torture themselves as plain evil, and would see it as their devine duty to convince them otherwise, because their religion's most important commandment, as well as their very existance as an ethnic group, depends on maintaining the cave ecosystem they inhabit...Keeping the caverns oxyginated take most of their societal energy, so they aren't really interested in persecuting outsiders. They aren't that interested in expension either, unless it's to other caverns. Self-flagellation also take a huge chunk of their religious attention, leaving little of it to persecute outsiders. Their religion isn't that obsessed with modesty either. One of the most important philosopher of their religion was originally a forest elf, who upon living with the Drows, learned the "error of her ways" (basically, enjoying life in any capacity and not torturing herself all waking hours), lived afterwards a life of pain and religious penitence, and became the founding mother of a grand dynasty, who even married into the royal family. Her example is one many Drows seek to emulate. Despite that, she remained loyal to her own people, and begged them to accept this life of pain, so that maybe, maybe, their persecution at the hand of the expending human groups would stop, as the gods would ease their punishment as they are actually doing their part in the appeasement.

My main suspicion for the main character being a Brit - or whatever he likes to call himself - working for the CIA is that Drinker simply didn't want to put in the work to come up with main character dialogue in a foreign (in that case US) vernacular. Same reason there's so many self-inserts in fanfiction stories... "What would *I* do if I met [insert character] from [insert fandom]" is way, way easier on many aspiring authors (and also a great crutch for talentless hacks) than thinking of - and executing - any original character.

The idea of the government releasing a chemical agent to kill all mosquitoes, but ended up destroying everything, that would make sense; first, I can picture Trump getting stung by a mosquito and getd mad at all insects, secound, we do take dtupid decisions quite often. Getting back to the mosquitos, most mosquitoes species dont actually feed on people but other animals, adding to it that male mosquitoes are very effective pollinators. So, yeah mosquitoes are annoying, but very important.
