    Thank you! The model is sculpted by my friend torben ryde and has been sold by Nordlys miniatures. Nordlys is unfourtunately shut down now. But this model, along with torbens latest sculpt will be available on this kickstarter campaign. www.kickstarter.com/projects/1355278117/the-archer-a-torben-ryde-miniature-display-sculpt The campaign starts today and runs the next two weeks. By then both models will be gone for good. So if you want it, now's the time!

    I'd love to see your take on Wordbearers in this style, I'm curious how you will deal with the technical challenge created by the presence of all of the runes text and sygils on their armor. Also I like the darker red you get on them and the blood ravens as compared to the brighter red's of the blood angels and world eaters.

    A video about how to record miniature painting with a camera (Non a webcam or phone, I dont know how people call professional cameras), I have one of those, and I tried multiple times recording myself painting, but the color, the focus and other things always feel odd when I review the recording.

  • @kazzIsTheName

    You are being very modest here. Its a webcam with a glorified controller. Not too special in any way. And I feel for the 219eu (from your link) save up a bit more and go with something else. But the controller is a nice idea. Could be cool to hack it to work with other webcams in obs would be the way to go... maybe even cut the price with 30-50%? I dunno. I might be harsh here.

    I have never shot myself painting miniatures. But as a cinematographer i can safely say that i agree with you...this thing is pretty useless for filming miniatures. my suggestion: - Acquire a descent slr sized camera that can record in 4k resolution. - Learn about "focal length", "angle of view", and "depth of field". Once you do that you can confidently make the right choice about what lens to get for your camera. - Learn about exposure. - Learn as much as you can about lighting, such as the "quality of light (from hard to soft), angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection. - mess around with a polarizer to control reflections. - feed camera's image to an external monitor, so you can see what youre filming - rely on modern auto-focus technology (Sony does it best imo) - find the best way to mount your camera that gives you the most flexibility and does not shake as you move around. (this may be the least straightforward tip) - and then go down a rabbit hole of post production to ensure your delivered result is the most optimal. This is usually where things fall apart for people who are new to the world of image making, and wonder why their footage doesn't look as good as others who are using the same camera. In the end its not rocket science, but may be tricky to learn due to a very non-linear way of learning (much like miniature painting).

  • @Watchpaintdry_minis
    @Watchpaintdry_minis27 күн бұрын

    Absolutely agree. I would add that i think that a 50mm lens on a crop sensor is a good focal lenght in my experience. And that shooting in manual focus with a LOT of lights around you and a ISO at maximum 800 has worked out better for me than autofocus and lower ISO. But maybe that has to do with the camera I'm using. Thanks for watching and commenting! I would love to learn more about color grading and post production honestly - there's just so little time in the day.
