He uses sometimes the midi keyboard to tell the vst what notes to split his voice into. Waves has a vst like this sing a note play 5 notes on your midi keyboard and you get 5 copies of your voice in the pitches you play. It sounds awesome

I agree that Jacob Collier is very talented, yes. But I disagree with your assertion that his talent is "divine". It isn't. "Supernatural" things (eg: gods, devils, angels, demons, souls, afterlives, heavens, hells, etc) do not exist, and any instance of anything seeming "supernatural" is always pure illusion. So it's almost an insult to tell someone that their abilities are "divine", because in many cases a person has developed his/her abilities through a lot of hard work, no deities involved. That's like praising "God" or "Jesus" if your doctor cures you, but suing your doctor for malpractice if he/she makes a mistake and harms you. No, give praise where praise is due, to the actual _persons_ involved, not to imaginary playmates. Jacob Collier's talents are not "divine" (from a deity); they're Collierine (from Jacob Collier himself, due to a combination of his genes, upbringing, and hard work).

Familial voices do so blend together. Good voices help even more. This trio has it. Also, on an organ, there is pedal that is used to control the "swell" of the sound, allowing a crescendo and climax. These singers have learned that mode. Beautiful job with all three songs.

The dynamics in this performance are incredible, and her guitar playing is fantastic - rising and falling perfectly in the right places to allow her voice to shine. There is a ton of compression on the vocal track to get that amount of detail and clarity in the soft passages but her mic technique was also fantastic. Such a sad loss of a beautiful talent.

Just recently found your channel (via American Idol search). Love how you break down a song and are willing to provide praise as well as criticism of the singer's choices. Eva is one of my favorites. She destroyed this song all time for any other singer. What she did to this song (that I did not hear you say directly but you hinted around with other adjectives), is that she took what is essentially the top movie/children's/hope-filled song of all time and converted it to a lament. What rips the listener apart is that her vocal choices and key emote that she does not believe the sentiment and feels that it is just beyond her reach. The sadness brings the listener to tears every time.

She is a gospel singer in a church, to answer your question, who she is...! She is supporting her sisters and brothers after her parents, which is why you find the girl whooping in the side of the stage. That's her little sister.

I have become a Jack Blocker fan throughout the season. His enunciation is improving (tactical). His tone is buttery. I looked up his original work on Spotify and read the lyrics to a few songs as well. I think the best musician in the history of American Idol was Alejandro a couple of years ago. No one in the history of the show could play the guitar or piano with his skillset. After reading Jack's lyrics, I think he may be the best song writer in the history of the show. He only sang 1 original (audition) and only about half of that song. Interesting that he has chosen a careful path of interpreting covers instead. I put his lyric story telling in the Dylan/Cash territory. If he makes it to the finals, I hope that he pulls out 'Swear to God' or 'Old Boby' and doesn't care if he wins.

I like Abi very much. Expect her to be a top finisher. There were 2 places in the song where she ran out of breath at the end of a phrase and went flat. I heard them in the original performance and see that you point them both out here. She is one of the top 10 with good pitch control so it was a surprise to me. There are a couple of the young ones that are off multiple times per song but have cute stories that are out over their skis right now and should go home. Abi is not one of them. Expect top 3 for her.

Changing Melody are Tricky Since the original Melody quite Catchy and rememberable. BUT if the "Original Melody" was simple "boring" something people get SICK of 😂😂😂😂 ( Like the Happy Birthday, National Athem, Somewwhere over the boring.....) a slight Melody Changing Would be a PLEASANT FOR THE LISTENER 😅😅😅 it's like normal Plain food but today we have a little seasoning ❤❤❤
