Ollie Moto

Ollie Moto

The guy who makes the motorcycle videos. You'll mainly find me riding big ADV bikes somewhere and talking nonsense to a camera, but every now and again I make content that you might find useful.

    52 minutes kept me interrsted the whole time, Im not new to electric but not ridden any of these yet but really need to get on them and try them out, ( need to buy all my motorcycle gear again though in order to do that as sold it all off years ago. ). I have convverted a few push bikes to electric and bought a frey ex pro and absolutely love riding them. I think a zero sr would be about my speed but price and charging when doing distance is a bit off putting, I nearly pulled the trigger on one that was ex demo for £8 but dily dalied too much and it sold lol.

    Thanks for the kind words! As I said in the video, I really enjoyed my time on them. The riding experience is pretty ace to be honest, but I do have reservations about their "real world application" for the type of riding I do i.e. big adventures. If I rode a lot closer to home most of the time I'd seriously consider one.

    Hi Ollie, have only just come across your content and it’s great stuff, especially when you’re a local guy and adventure on places like SPTA👍. You mention in this video people are using road tyres, I was wondering what tyres you and your mates are using? I’m looking at taking my GSA1200 more off-road and use it for more of what it’s designed to do. I currently run Michelin Anakee Adventure. Keep up the good work pal, and possible see you out and about around Andover/Salisbury way👍

  • @OllieMoto
    @OllieMoto2 ай бұрын

    Hey man, thanks for the kind words. My friends and I use a mix of all sorts. If you’re looking for a 50/50 tyre then I’m a big fan of the Mitas E07’s. As for more off-road tyres, a lot of people I know use stuff from Motoz. My 990 currently has an E09 on the rear, and Pirelli MT21 on the front. What I would say is that opinions on tyres are wide and varied. Just grab a set that has the right amount of knobbles for what you want and give them a go. Yes, 50/50 tyres suck in the mud. Yes, 80/20 will suck on wet tarmac. Ignore all the negative opinions and go for it! 👊🏻

For bottoms I use some forcefield stuff but plan to swap over to knee braces. For gear I’m currently using Adventure Spec, which I’m a big fan of, however, full disclaimer: I’ve done some work with them hence getting hold of their gear, but only because I liked their gear anyway so agreed to the terms 👍🏻

    I've ridden to Azerbaijan via Cyprus on a Vespa 300 and get past Austria and any electric vehicle just becomes useless. We tend to forget that the majority of the world still runs on petrol and diesel and I personally don't think EV's are the future and if they are it won't be in my lifetime.
