I turned off all the big brother "savings" features in my EcoBee t-stats so it just runs as I set it 👍

👍 Funny, we shared this video after the client kept turning Eco+ back on insisting “that’s not how it works, they don’t shut your unit off” 🤦‍♂️ We turned it off when we installed the unit, but kept finding it back on.

My pilot will light ,but when i turn the gas on manually it will light up for a split second then goes out with the pilot light going out as well. P.S. i had it working a few hours ago the same day . ??

Hi. My fireplace was working just fine. I thought i smelled propane downstairs, so i shut off the main propane tank. When i turned the tank back on, now the fireplace pilot won't stay lit. It lights, i hold it for 30 seconds, then it doesn't stay. Please help.

Hi Jason, shooting in the dark here without knowing more information but I'll try to help. First, I assume you found no propane leak, but recommend you buy a cheap gas leak detector to test, or hire a pro to come inspect ... just in case. Propane gas is heavy so it lingers down low to the ground, if you smelled propane it's worth a thorough investigation. That said, being you said it was working fine prior, my first guess would be you now have some air in the line that needs to be bled. If after you've bled the line, you still have the same issue, follow the steps in the article to clean your thermocouple or thermopile and try to light the pilot again. Prior, there may have been enough heat on it to keep the pilot lit, but if it's dirty or weak it may not relight as you're experiencing. Try holding down the pilot button a little longer too - it may need to warm back up before it generates enough current to stay open.

I really want to thank you for your video I am replacing a 23 year old Rheem Classic with am attic air handler in a 2 story 2300 square foot home in NJ. I pretty much decided variable speed 2 stsge wasn't worth the cost difference from dual speed. That was until a estimate that had a price 1k more for the Lennox 18 Elite vs numerous 2 stage or single stage estimates . Your video was the easiest in explaining the idea of the comfort aspect..vs humidity Yada Yada Yada...I can honestly see why your so successful, you plainly explain comfort ...which is the most important thing.Your video sealed the deal on the variable speed for me.

My relatives just told me their warranty replaced a 17 year old AC not prorated and they just took out the policy last fall. Sounds to good to be true.

@donniedarko979 while it does sound too good to be true, I’ve definitely heard stories from people who had similar experiences. They’re much rarer than the “horror stories” but some people get lucky … right contractor, right home warranty agent, right circumstances. That’s an awesome outcome for sure!

He's an actor, and yes we loved his eyebrow raise - he added that humorous touch. We're good at HVAC but not acting so called in the pros to shoot this commercial. Thanks!

Thank you WhiteRiverAir! We stopped selling the Maytag unfortunately due to a high failure rate...back to Trane and Lennox! We liked the video too though, so it stays!

The only thing Carrier is doing well right now is Bryant Man comic book looking ads. LOL I'm a Trane and Lennox promoter first and foremost. I have two Lennox's and one Trane on our offices and warehouse and a Trane on my house. When it comes to inverter technology though the sad fact is American manufacturers are just starting to perfect what the Asian and European manufacturers had right a decade ago! I just went to AHR Expo/Chicago, there were around 100 Asian manuf. there with inverter tech.

Carrier pioneered this technology 25 years ago. It didn't work real well then, but look at the advances in computer technology since then. That is the main difference. Being able to control the DC drive motors.

We've been selling Trane for many years now and have always been very impressed with their products. We also sell Lennox product which is equally impressive. I have never been a fan of Carrier product because of the high failure rate. Rich M.

Were located in South Texas. We just started selling TRANE. Their newer R410A units charge themselves. However, I mostly see Carrier units that fail after three years of service.

  • @magictouchair

Yes it is the same technology as the Fujitsu. Asia and Europe have been using this technology for years and it's about time a US manufacturer is. I'm suprised to hear you say that about the Trane 19i. We have had very little trouble with them less than most actually, and we have installed hundreds of them. Of course when dealers are cramming them against walls, connecting them to faulty duct work, not charging them correctly, etc. they're going to have problems. Installation matters most. Rich M

On the job training for your techs/installers. That's awesome. The last residential place i worked for wouldn't even let the installers leave to go get more copper so the unit could be installed properly! They charged Top Dollar for top of the line Trane units, but hacked them in worse than most systems I have seen in my career. If you have watched some of my videos, you will know what I mean. :p

Modulating drive? Oh is it a TRUE variable speed DC compressor like the Fijitsu Halycen ductless syetem uses? If so that is kick butt! I used to love Trane, but those dual compressor XL19i units are not very reliable if you ask me. We had LOTS of warranty problems here in Phoenix with those darn things. It's brital to start and stop a recip like those do.

Thanks. I can't take credit for the video or editing it was shot by a "Turn Here Productions". We had that many techs. on the job for training purposes. We were installing a 21 SEER Iq drive with a modulating DC compressor (made by Panasonic) and our customer was kind enough to let us do some on-site training at his home during the installation. Usually 2-3 installers on the job is the norm. I'm a stickler for training and craftsmanship so our installs never wind up like the one's you video!

  • @hackfreehvac

Nice job on the video. Good editing too. I was curious, do you guys always have that many installers on a job? Or what is the normal for your typical change out crew?
