  I started looking at 3D models recently since I struggle so much with proportions. I also find it easier to get a reference because now I can just make my reference instead of using google for 20 minutes

  Does anyone know why my light skin tones dried so quickly ? I used it in 1 drawing and it dried after that ( no cracks + i use copic paper )

I found you the time you made the break ... so its great for me to see a new video :-) The 3-Layer sounds helpful, I will try it out ... I mostly struggle with the transitions of this hair parts and the hairstrands around the ear ... whyever, it never fit together 😵‍💫

  I used to draw traditionally and I am new to digital art. I would say that as a returning artist, it is useful as a tool but things like shading and anatomy cannot be cheated, it works as a good guide but that won't make you a pro artist. I am guilty with using "shortcuts" but that still isn't why I am an artist today

  It's crazy coming into the visual arts from a musician background. People celebrate music being exponentially easier to make every year, but art being more accessible to make is bad? Its not like you arent making creative decisions constantly while using the 3d assets. Great vid.

  If using 3d models is cheating then so is using a computer or other electronic device instead of pens, pencils and brushes, doing things the old fashioned way if you messed up you had to start all over again from scratch not just clear and reload. pencil and paper is how I learned to draw, I now use a computer and 3d models, they have helped me learn more things, like composition, posing perspective and lighting, they are just another learning tool like rulers and compasses.

  ahhhh ok so its very similar of how you create you oc's on those picrew dress up games. (only saying this cause the hair selection part of the games, they have a back parts, side parts, front parts hair styles to choose from) tldr; very good tutorial

  Can your do one on how to draw braided hair styles? like dreads, box braids, etc. and in general styles that don't have bangs. Every hair tutorial I see doesn't address more black hair styles and it would be a big help!
