There is no disputing the quality of this song. Unfortunately, some pseud decided to make a video about it that is sheer bollocks. Just listen to the track; it does not need interpretation by some invisible twat.

*"Kashmir" live* was the ultimate live LZ song. The Pinnacle. The 2007 O2 version, the audio dynamics and quality, mostly closely mirror the power and the glory of the live song I personally experienced in 1977.

Bonham was a pretty average self taught drummer, not big on reading or rudiments it was all bout power and he fitted in very well with the zeppelin style. He sure got lucky when page came calling.

The very first notes I ever heard from Led Zeppelin was in October of 1969 with LZ II's Heartbreaker, listening with a pair of Koss Over-The-Ear Headphones to the RL LP. The opening riff was so intense to my 14 year old ears, that I started on the other side with WLL, and with that side finished, I was ready for Heartbreaker. After listening to HB, I was all in, 100% into LZ as my favorite band. And that remained through the 70's and beyond.

While it is true the mics were hung as indicated, there is a Binson echo delay placed in the recording to get that ka-kaw effect. Rick Beato has a whole video on this effect.

Jimmy Page had so many great riffs it’s crazy just to try and quantify them all. We all have our favorites of course and that’s what makes them so special. I would like to say something about Jimmy as a producer, the recording quality of the Led Zeppelin albums is amazing and the mixing impeccable. Everything just sounds so good especially Bonhams drums which I think actually adds to his legacy because when you hear him on the albums they just sound so good. But it doesn’t end there, to Jimmy’s guitar and JPJs bass to Robert’s vocals. Just simply amazing.

*"The Rover"* was not included on any of the Official Hits compilations. But it's one of the best Hard Rock riffs in the Zeppelin catalog. Also TSRTS riff. What a great opener for the '77 Tour.

Unfortunately the lives picked for this video weren’t the best, or it was your sound quality. Page always had the greatest riffs, then when you add in his playing the rest of the songs, always magic. He would also during live performances, come up with amazing improvisations, that each song was different each night playing what he was feeling. These MUSIC GODS, were all pure geniuses, & no other bands even come close.

A true craftsman of music, he wove an intricate web of emotions that captured us… and after listening to him, we would never be the same again 🎵🎸❤

The greatest is subjective IMO. The biggies have the guys that click. John wlth The Who? Keith in LZ? Charlie for Ringo? Na. Right guys at the right place at the right time who clicked. So many fantastic musicians on every instrument that picking one is, again, subjective. I try to enjoy, on vinyl, many different bands which we will never see again. But, I do appreciate the really big fans of their favorite band, emphasis on their because there are so many. A musical conversation is pretty cool. Enjoy!
