    I followed your tutorial but when I submit the Job, the results that I am getting show that the kinetic energy is constant throughout which does not make sense. How can I fix this issue? What could be going wrong?

    The interaction properties you describe are very difficult to follow. you change units in every video and you assume everyone knows where your previous videos are. wish you would just go through each interaction property and briefly explain how it changes between ply directions for better context compared to having to search every video in your channel. I still have not been able to find these properties /:

    I was thinking it would be possible to write out each step in your amplitude but theres no reasonable way to write out 1422 increments. Would have been nice if the there could have been a spreadsheet linked with only the velocity values in it.

    Maybe someone faced my problem which I could solve it. I used data for amplitude in Load section and I finished everything but when I wanted to submit my job I faced the following error: "The local-1 direction (after the additional rotation and permutation) of the material orientation, specified via *ORIENTATION, for element 1 instance COMP-0-1 is normal to the SHELL, MEMBRANE, GASKET, COHESIVE, or SURFACE element. The local 1-direction must be projected onto the element surface. Check input data." After searching, I used "assign stack direction" command in mesh section for each layer (before using this command you should click on "part" command on top of mesh section in object command and don't use assembly command ). after clicking on "assign stack direction" choose a part of a layer (for example we had 4 parts for each layer in this tutorial video) then click on the top surface of that part that is brown or near brown surfaces and do this step for each part of layer.

    I am having a plate which made with steel and impact with rigid cylinder. And velocity is given in amplitude form. But I am not able to balance the energy. Kinetic energy is coming double than internal energy.

    Thank you, sir, for this excellent explanation. Sir, I am currently working on modeling of 3D printed concrete elements, can I implement cohesive elements between the two printed layers, since there is not any epoxy or adhesive material between the consecutive layers (layers are directly stacked on each other), I've a doubt whether it is relevant to implement cohesive elements or direct surface to surface contact is enough. Kindly give your suggestion, sir.

    Yes but then the delamination between the ply will not be possible. You need to select the ply surfaces to give delamination.

    @@SanaanKhan hello again, I have few more questions. I have constructed a simple tensile test model for my undefeated composite laminate, and I have calculated the reduced E11 ( from the stress starin curve along the fiber direction) However, I wanted to validate that my modelling approach was correct, so I thought of analytically calculating the general stiffness matrices (ABD) usinh a python code, and compare it with the general stiffness matrix of the abaqus model after extracting it. And now am confused, are these the right approach to validate that my simple abaqus model is correct? All I wanted to do was to check that my reduced E11 ( from the abaqus model ) is not so far from the value Calculated analytically. And also am not sure, if there is a way to extract the general stiffness matrix out of abaqus? Because I have tried a couple of methods I found on goolge but they didnot work. So my question is, if you can recommend a method for me to validate that my abaqus model , please do. And , if you can expalin to me more what are the values that I should validate against each other, will be great. Thank you in advance

  • @parthivchandrak
    @parthivchandrak2 жыл бұрын

    1) Anyone facing issues with velocity boundary conditions and lack of data for creating an amplitude, could resort to defining a "predefined field". It works fine! 2) Also I suggest using Analytical rigid instead of discrete rigid if the impactor could be modelled as an extruded/revolved shell. Analytical rigid gives more accurate results than discrete imo. 3) Take care of the mesh size as well. Check if its an element or node that is present at the impact point. Its highly sensitive to the results.

    Hi, I tried to model a low velocity impact with the same mesoscale approach you showed in the video but despite I adopted your same approach a compenetration of plies under the impactor occurs. Also very high values of ALLVD and ALLPW resulted...What could be the cause?

  • @SanaanKhan
    @SanaanKhan3 жыл бұрын

    Allvd hints you about the viscous dissipation energy. High value compared to internal energy ( more than 1 %) signifies large deformation and hence large value of stabilization to avoid element failure. Allpw is plastic work which is fine if you have large plastic deformation.
