I mostly just use what I know has worked well for others. Troy goldberg has a lot of great vids mentioning plants and also technicallyplantedtanks posts a lot of cool terrarium plant stuff on instagram

Looking great, do u find that plants grow slower without any nutrients in the filter mat? (Assuming u don’t fertilize)

It takes them a bit longer to get started but after about 2 weeks growth is the same as any other substrates

@@cams_frogs i second this and a decent way to add some nutrients is to let a banana peel sit in a cup of water for a day and use that to spot water. its also frog/animal safe!

@@cams_frogs seems a bit risky considering bananas are sprayed with all sorts of chemicals, but if you’re not putting any frogs in you could try it out

nothing except isopods and springtails so far. just got a few more plants so I’m waiting for them to grow in and then adding glass frogs and probably some type of dart frog too

Thanks! The light is a Current USA Satellite and I have it on for about 7 hours per day

It works well but I think it’s a bit overpriced for a pretty standard LED light

Great tank 💕 I wish blackwater tanks were more popular. I would add a small group of tetras and a Betta Or some dwarf hatchetfish, but they jump through the smallest gaps lol

these frogs are Epipedobates anthonyi (Anthony’s poison frog)

It’s a temporary home that makes it easier to check on them and make sure they are healthy and eating well. They are moving to a huge planted terrarium soon
