Thanks for your review If you had the chance over what van do you think you would purchase now?
G'day Joel, sorry I have been away for a couple of weeks. That is such a hard question, if you have the funds a full Australian owned and built unit for sure, they seem to be the best option, not quite the layout I needed, but better design and build quality. If not, try to go with a unit that has at least had Aussie suspension in it and check the companies warranty and back up services. What I was told and what actually was available were two very different things.
Come up great mate!
Thank you, still a bit to go but I’m happy with it so far.
Nice video! Are you interested in off-road lighting stuff sponsorship?
Thank you for watching, possibly yes.
@@theoffroadtradies1002 Perfect! Let's move forward via email.
Nicely set up rig👌
Thank you, it was a big decision to go with the cruiser, it progressing well, I still have some work to do yet, but I think that is an endless thing will with decking out 4WD's.
Just needz a jap flag and its done
Maybe some rockslider side steps to protect the sills.
Thanks Paul, I have scrub bars and side steps on my list to still do, along with roof and centre consoles.
Good job mate.
Thanks mate, looking forward to the Flinders trip in it.
Great video incredible views
Thank you it is such an awesome place. We will be going back again soon.
I have done a roast in the oven. I put it all in an oven bag, no mesh
Do you have a picture of the end product mate, I'd be interested in seeing it. I have thought about the oven bags, but just haven't tried it out yet. Thank you for watching.
@@theoffroadtradies1002 will find one but not sure how to uplaoad a pic
@@theoffroadtradies1002 cant load a pic ? Whats your email
Have to admit, was a little sus on them coming out crispy still but obviously they were well done mate.
Only a little bit of doubt Phill
That’s gonna eon my list. Thank you for the inspiration
Thank you for watching, I was pretty happy with them and they are so easy to do. I hope you enjoy them as much as the kids and I did.
Nice one mate, haven’t had vol au vents since I was a kid. Will definitely be giving these a go next weekend👍
It does take you back MJ, let me know how you go with it.
What’s happened to the Ranger? Obviously I’ve missed something. Well you won’t be popping CV's anymore 👍
Ahh I won't miss the CV's that's for sure. I still have the ranger, but it is doing just local work around town as it's got 400000kms on the clock now and it needed a rest, had a few things starting to go wrong. I'll be doing a vid shortly of the cruiser once I get a bit more sorted out on it.
@@theoffroadtradies1002 I’m sure you’ll enjoy it they are great vehicles.
A little extravagant but some lobster tails cut up and some mornay sauce would go down a treat
Mate that's something I didn't think of but definitely worth a go, or even yabby tails if you are out bush.
Great vid mate awesome cook up👍👍
Thanks Mark, I'm enjoying being back out and about that's for sure.
Another delicious looking vid thanks
Thanks mate, might be a few weeks to the next as I'm heading to the Cape today for a tour.
Another good cook up mate , just got the travel buddy in me Ute giving me a the mrs plenty of ideas 👍👍👍
Thanks Luke, really you are only limited to what you can think of and how it might need to be tweaked a little for the travel buddy. Keep me posted on your cook ups.
@@theoffroadtradies1002 cooked for the first time in the 12v oven done ribs driving up to the sunny coast nearly 3 hours on about 150, meat fell off the bone!!! Can’t wait to head home now to try something else 🤣🤣
@@LukeHaydon-rg4qh great stuff mate you will be hooked now. 👌🤙
Where did you buy the shells from? I don't think I've seen them before
These ones were from our local IGA, but we used to get them from Coles, they had 3 different sizes, the bigger ones are easier to use and make more of a meal.
This looks great. I am about to order one of these ovens, it gives me faith that what I cook will turn out ok. I’ll also look st getting those dishes from Aussie disposals. Look forward to the next cooking segment 😊
Thank you Katherine, you will love the oven. If you can’t find the dish locally try online they are an Avanti Dry Cell. Keep me posted on how you go with it.
Nice one mate, definitely trying this one. I wanted to see if you use a step up on the travel buddy. I’ve been using my travel buddy for years without one, but have heard the step up is a huge improvement. Just wanted to see if you’re running one. Cheers
Thanks MJ, I have never used a step up transformer, I did look into it but decided I was happy without for now.
Awesome cook up mate. The tins that u had with lids were u get please . I checked the Aussie Disposals website ? thanks
Thanks mate, I got mine from Aussie Disposals in Mildura, but he was having some issues restocking. The brand on the bottom of the tin is Avanti and its called a dry cell. Hope this helps mate.
Awesome mate thanks for video I’ll be trying it myself 👍👍
Anytime it was a good cook and delicious I couldn’t ask for much more.
Swear i saw u fellas last year coming down hotham i was going up in November 23 poor rodeo did not like it one bit
It’s a pretty steep drive up mate that’s for sure. It’s quite possible we are up that way fairly often. 👍
Great to see you back what a ripper meal👍👌
Thanks Mark hopefully not so long between cooks this time.
Mate that looked bloody scrumdiddlyumptious will definitely be trying that one
Cheers mate, I was very happy with the end product, delicious, warm and filling.
welcome back.
Thanks mate, hopefully I can get a few done quickly.
@@theoffroadtradies1002 can i ask where you got that tray and lid from I couldnt hear it in the video
From Aussie Disposals mate
Glad to see these going again, Ive been cooking good food while we're driving on trips thanks to you
Thanks Robert, I've got a few more in mind, will hopefully get another one done this week before I head to the Cape for a few weeks.
What’s the reason for not wearing a seatbelt?
Honestly mate, I totally forgot, I was stressing out about the descent. If you look at previous vids I generally have it on.
Did you have the locker on when the CV poped and perhaps it was all bound up. That broke to easy . What a pain.
Hey Andy, no I didn't have the lockers on, I had literally just installed new CV's 2 days earlier. We were trialing extended ones from Roadsafe, which we have since removed. Curl did one in the same trip and we did about 6 or 7 in a few months so we went back to standard and have had less issues.
@@theoffroadtradies1002 You’ve had plenty of practice changing the then, unfortunately. Love the videos 👍 Cheers mate
@@AndyL940 yep we have changed more than we would have liked to that's for sure. The ranger/bt50 are definitely easier than the Hilux we had to do on a Desert to Dunes tour though. Thank you for watching we appreciate it and the comments too, keep them coming.
What size is the torx bit for the driveshaft please? Also, what nM should they be done up to? Replacing mine next weekend, with the help of my neighbour that is an Army diesel mechanic. Pretty sure the Army doesnt have a lot of Rangers, so want to have the right specs ready 💪🏻😊
I’ll double check in the morning for you mate.
The Torx bit is a TX45 mate, tension in NM I didn't use I just went as tight as possible.
Great trip. Thanks Offroad Tradies. Geez that LaC79 looks awesome 😂😂
Thanks Clint I’ll be doing a full video later, once I catch up.
I like your setup, how does the heat go on the sides, I believe they get hot.
Thanks mate, hoping I can get the new setup working this well too. They do get hot but nothing that has hurt anything I’ve had beside them, they are insulated back sides and top.
So that's the talk behind my back, Goose Phill, 🤔 was a great trip though. Hanging for another like it.
When are you back old mate
When are you going to do some more Travelbuddy cooking vids?? Love em 👍
Thanks mate, sorry I have tried twice but had ute issues both times and didn't end up cooking at all. Add that to setting up the new ute and breaking it in. I reckon I should have one done next week though. Do you have anything in mind? Something you want me to try?
@@theoffroadtradies1002 sweet I’ll keep an eye out!! Coming into winter what about a casserole or something similar??
@@LukeHaydon-rg4qh sounds like a good idea mate leave it with me.
Great vid mate 👍👍
Thanks mate, thought I would try a few basic options to give everyone a good feel for how the oven goes.
Born in tumby bayy
Possibly our favourite family holiday spot Tumby...
Epic guys, looking forward to seeing a 79 do that 😊
Me to mate, hopefully in the near future...
That sand looks pretty soft
That's for sure mate, there was no way I was taking that on that late in the day with no backup....
@theoffroadtradies1002 Yeah mate, I don't blame you
What a great way to see gods country. Everyone should do it once in their lives. Great vid guys.
At least once, but hopefully more than that, so much to see.
Just found these videos after buying a travel oven, Love the videos. Not sure if you have done a video on the battery setup you have yet but would love to know the draw that the travel oven has. Keep up the great videos, can't wait to try some, hope I can do as good as you.
Thanks Wayne, that’s a good point, I’ll look into that and sort a short video out. Keep up the suggestions 👍
Mate your under the car with no stand … I’ve seen heaps of jacks come down. Not worth the risk
Cheers mate we did push my tyre under but noted.
what a waste of time.. all 30 seconds of it!
Apologies mate, it was early in our filming and editing and as an electrician by trade I do what I can. I'll be trying to get a new one about the area up soon.
Love how u say the tracks u been down has helped heaps with planning my own trip thank you
Not a problem, I’m happy to help. Thank you for watching.
That bright bakery good bloody good pies
Always a good feed👍
One of the best experiences anyone could have. Well done.
It is an amazing drive no matter how many time you go, there is always something new to see.
Good easy meals got to love that oven
Sometimes easy is best, I like to cook, but there are times you just want it quick and easy.
Where did you get your cooking tins from? Please
The tins with lids for cooking meat I got from Aussie Disposals, the trays for the oven come from Somerville Industries, but were purchased from Mallee 4x4 or Aussie Disposals. Hope this is helpful for you.
Crikey that was amateur hour watching you lot 😂
Thank you, we did have a few new comers to the high country on this trip, everyone needs to start somewhere.
I like your cooking videos. Does the travel Buddy vent steam at all? I don't have one. If it doesn't, then the cooking won't be able to get rid of the moisture. Also there is a lot of moisture in the veggies and the cheese.
Thank you, there was plenty of moisture on that one. The travel buddy has small vent holes in the door that does get rid of some of the moisture. Potatoes seem to be one of the more moist cooks, but it happens with some other cooks too.
Should try the pinnacles sometime...
As in Western Australia? I have done them a couple of times previously, great spot.
