It surely was a beautiful war bird.
Imagine the planes if they had the resources and the war had continued!
I too have the Wingnut Wings kit! The instructions with the historical information is available on the company's website, which is still up despite going out of business.
Excelente recorrido👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The planes were beautiful and have a history that wasn't mentioned here.
Why were many of the flying shot images reversed left to right so that all the lettering is back to front? Does it really make any difference which way across the screen the aircraft fly?
To avoid KZread's poor algorithms from claiming copyright of footage that is in the public domain, but that various scam companies claim to own.
❤❤❤
This was cool, but I stopped watching it early because of how many “RE- two- oh-oh-five”s I heard omg
...fascinating aircraft, sans doute.
I am aware of the A-3 Skywarrior nicknamed the whale due its enormous size for a carrier bird.
It's nothing new to use an older aircraft no longer capable in their intended roles. During WW2, the RAF used Defiants in the electronic warfare role. The Defiants carried Moonshine and Mandrel which were used to counter the Freya rada system.
Great vid
Good video ❤
Thanks. I'm quite interested in the history of VMF[N]-513, my old squadron. They were flying AV8A Harriers, when I was in, and I came aboard at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
Not a fan of the distracting background music. To loud, to much of a jarring change of tone. I had to stop the video half way through. I can not concentrate on what you were trying to tell me.
Excellent piece 👍👍
Very very professional video, clear texts, no fancy talks, exactly to the point. Could not be better (and I am hard to please).
VERY beautifuls profiles ;)
nice video!
Despicable me 4
Excellent German pronunciation. Such attention to detail really does make all the difference.
It's a shame that a versatile aircraft as the S3 is replaced by 4! other aircrafts. According wiki "The S-3 was removed from front-line fleet service aboard aircraft carriers in January 2009, its missions having been taken over by the P-3C Orion, P-8 Poseidon, SH-60 Seahawk, and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_S-3_Viking#:~:text=The%20S%2D3%20was%20removed,%2D18E%2FF%20Super%20Hornet.
There’s a home built version of this called the delta that you can build from plans. It uses a boxer Subaru engine and it’s very fast considering its rated engine horse power.
When we deal with some topics and pretend to be serious, then we have to learn a few things about pronunciation! Namely, if all important things are pronounced beyond recognition, then the intention is totally missed!!
No, thanks. I'm not so crazy.
The history is full of ironies
I love this ugly ass fighter.
This is a very workable idea. First of all lets deal with how the ramjets at the rotor tips would work: They would be "inductor ramjets" whereby a rocket motor at the center would provide a little thrust for starting. The rocket exhaust would induce an airflow to allow the ramjets to generate additional thrust at zero speed to start the rotor turning till the rockets weren't needed anymore. -The rockets would likely be compressed air and fuel. The Doblhoff WNF 342 helicopter in fact used compressed air tip jets and flew. Secondly lets deal with how fuel and air would get to the tips: What is needed is a "multi-port hollow shaft rotary union". These use labyrinth and o ring seals to allow fuel and air to pass to the ramjets at the tips. -There would also be hydraulic journal bearings to hold the rotor in place and a slip ring to conduct electrical signals if needed. Flow regulation of the fuel would be by using precise fuel pressure to set a precision flow regulating valve to meter the exact liters per minute needed with maybe some control apparatus in each tip jet ramjet. -There would be no torque except from bearing friction and that would be so negligible the tail fins would use rotor wash to control the roll easily. -There would need to be a collective pitch like a helicopter. A cyclic pitch would also be possible but maybe not essential. -I would imagine a modified standard 3 axis patina autopilot would make hovering easier. -Landing would need to be automatic or a tilting seat provided for the pilot.
No Beer? Nooooooo!!!!!!!
Flying Mortadella😀
This thing has more bugs than the Amazon rainforest. 😅
Dessau Wisent the name of the company it’s the city
It's pronounced "Makki" -- the "h" makes the C hard.
Best German Night fighter was the He-219
*Brillant concept as were all others*
wtf is this with music ripped from video game?, surely you cant find any music related to the topic in hand history not Minecraft and half-life 2, your no mark felton or dark skies, they know how to make a doc without ripping form other peoples content
Check out the 'Delta Kitten'.
8:41 interesting way to pronounce the name Anthony Fokker, whose real name sounds practically the same as the word this channel tried to avoid! 😂
I heard that mother Fokker was really proud of him
There is no basis to disbelieve.
Shame they did not keep the landing gear configuration for the 109.
In honor of Hugo Junkers, I would like to mention that he refused to work for the Nazis, so they took his factory away from him.
Thanks for the reminder
…so, if I understand this right, this was the WW1 version of the Warthog in terms of how they were used?
Yes and no. It was originally intended for ground attack but wound up being mostly used for reconnaissance and support. If the Germans had appropriate weapons for the ground attack role, this plane might have changed the war. Of course, the British and French would have been developing better anti-aircraft weapons, too, so who knows?
The Merlin weighed about the same as the lower powered Peregrine so it should have been upgraded and would have been very successful especially if the guns were given more ammo. 6 seconds per sortie should have been increased enormously
Some people said the 2.ww was the war of the ingeneers... What could all these genius engineers have reached in a co liberation in freedom-time, so mich löste!!!
The S3 Viking, had a reputation as a bird with reliable engines and a tough well built airframe. However, my understanding is that the electronics were sensitive to the jolts on take-offs and landings. In Operation Desert Storm a lone Viking did a bombing mission on a small ship. It was a versatile platform and could do many missions. Many have thought about bringing back an S3 "type"
Great video on a remarkable airplane. Considering the huge loss of canvas planes and pilots from either side doing trench strafing or observation, this Junkers was a game changer. Pilots were expended as cheaply as infantry by the British to maintain pressure on the Germans.
They really never cared about their people
@@gratefulguy4130 I think Wellington referred to his infantry as "The scum of the earth".
