    Hello fellow Scott. I’m Al from edinburgh and considering converting a room in my house like you have, kind of similar dimensions but not sure. Wonder if you might measure exactly the length and width of this particular room please? Mine is 14ft bh 8ft but would need to have the ceiling extended. Hoping your room is not much bigger as it’ll be a good steer for me whether I can do this? Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

    Hi Peter. Looks like you're playing in a relative new build? Curious what your ceiling height is? Considering converting a Bellway double garage into a sim room but dubious about the height needed.

  • @PeterGoudie

    Hi Brian, the house is old and so does not have the standard UK new build 8 foot ceilings. I have 10 feet in height, anything under about 9-9.5 feet is a bit tight.

    Hi Peter, thanks for sharing this knowledge! Massively useful to me as I have a conservatory that has almost exactly the same dimensions which I thought might be too small, but seems I'm in luck and can now turn this space into something useful/fun! Just a few of questions which I'm hoping you may be able to help with 1) Did you use basic galvanised steel pipe? 2) what are the 5 clamps you have at the top holding the screen (seem to clip nicely onto the tubing and different from the tarp clips you have on the side and where did you get these? 3) I believe the depth of this "cage" was 22cm (from your video with Handicap Golf), is that just due to the thickness of the mattress you have behind the screen? Also do you have this secured to the wall in anyway or is it stable enough to stand on it's own (even with the screen's hanging off the front)? Thanks for any help/advice Mark

  • @PeterGoudie
    @PeterGoudie3 ай бұрын

    I’m glad you’ve found a use for your space! 1) yeah just galvanised steel 2) they are called greenhouse clamps and I got them on Amazon 3) yes I needed to maximise use of the space so I went as close to the wall as possible but leaving enough space to fit the mattress in 4) the frame is screwed to the wall the mattresses just stand up behind the screen without needing fixed in place

The other room you were hitting in seemed relatively small, comparable to the bedroom im thinking of converting in my house. Could you tell me approximately how big that room was, how much space you had between you and the screen (it looked fairly close), and how high your ceilings are?
