Hello 3D Printing Friends!
Since I got my first 3D printer in July, 2017, I've been learning the ins and outs of 3D printing and 3D modeling. I love sharing the fun of 3D printing, and the sense of accomplishment you get from designing and printing something that has never before existed!

Glad I came across this video Bryan. The script has been updated. Works with pi5, which as of today has no official octopi support. So this script is a must for pi5 users. Script ran no issues on with pi OS 64 bit on pi5 with m2 hat.
Good to know! Thanks, Nuroo! I've pinned your comment to help others, too!
I noticed that my Ender 3 v3 SE prints are slant. I checked the printer's alignment and noticed that the z axis is not square (it is tilted backwards). I found a y-axis support kit to install on Aliexpress. There are also some options on thingverse. I'm still deciding which option I'm going to test. Any thoughts?
Hi all. I was using Solid Works for 1 month and the Licence ran out. I was 3D printing with Creality slicer. The slicer files all say 'Print set up Disabled. Printer settings cannot be modified''. is this because of the Solid works licence running out?
Can u put an effects sheet on both sides of the spring plate?
Yes you can! I checked with Bambu Lab and they said it was OK to do that.
Thank you Bryan for the video and honest review, pretty much the same likes and dislikes as every other KZreadr who was given one to review. Having said that, if anyone from Sovol is actually reading the comments, maybe concentrate less on putting these machines in the hands of KZread content creators and try focusing on correcting these issues and actually getting units into the hands of paying customers who have already paid for their units weeks if not months ago. Thanks again Bryan for another great video, as for you Sovol, maybe start focusing on your paying customers.
Great video just got mine from Amazon
4 years on and the reason I’m here is that I’ve just bought my first reel of Sunlu and having a nightmare with plate bed adhesion, so a bit late but thanks for the info Bryan I should have researched it more beforehand… it will be my last reel,
I love your quips :-)
It's Klipper, you can alter the macros so that the filament runout sensor triggers a beep (assuming it has a beeper), or you can setup remote notifications so you get a telegram message or similar on your phone. The screen is kind of a non-issue for the same reason; it's Klipper. You're going to connect it to your network and then control it via the web interface. Either that or you care enough about the screen to get one for $50 on Amazon instead of paying the $70-80 Sovol wants for one to replace the crappy one it comes with. Good review, wish they were shipping the enclosures so I can see what they are charging $150 reviewed. Also wish they were shipping units in the US to all the people who already ordered :P
Hi! Im considering the ideia of an upgrade. I’ve an Ender 3 pro and I control It using the Sonic Pad. Some “how to” information about It? Thanks!
thanks, you are a master!
Thanks for puns and review. I showed your tee shirt to my wife, in the hopes she may let the kids know Father’s Day is coming up.
Thanks for the review BV3D. Cheers.
Totally agree on the noise part. Sovol is supposed to address this issue soon. A new fan motor or better shield design for the bottom fan? A Noctua would be very nice.
you're silly. It works. Thanks
Thanks Bryan I agree with your assessment. Mine has the same clickwheel quirk, but so did my old printer using the same mini 12864. It is Very Loud. I changed the controller fan ad at least idle is quiet now. I can live with the cooling noise since it works so nicely.
I was looking forward to your look at the SV08. Of course, you did not disappoint!
Never stop the run out jokes

Great review Bryan. I love the puns and Dad jokes, I added them to my arsenal for my kids and grandkids. This printer is ambitious for it's price and I am rooting for Sovol to fix and refine all the issues for it. Once all the those are fixed I think this will be a great printer for even a beginner.
i feel you didnt go over the entire Voron aspect of this printer. but i guess this was a review of the printer itself, but the ecosystem its a part of is worth mentioning.
ah, this is the first of the voron 2.4 clones that do a decent job in the mainstream
the question that comes to my mind is: how difficult would it be to modify this printer to use the stealthchanger? The use of belts for the z axis and CAN bus for the toolhead gives one hope for a relatively inexpensive tool changer.
Nice work Bryan! Can't wait to see that fan mod!!
How ya like the design of the sv08 and the print quality so far
Thanks, Bryan, for yet another thorough and punny review! I got bit by the Klipper bug when I got my SV07. I've since Klipperized my SV06 using the official Sovol screen, but then upgraded my Ender 3 V3 SE and Anycubic Kobra 2 using a single Raspberry Pi 3B+ I had lying around, so neither has a working Klipper screen. Is a screen necessary like on the SV08? It would make setting the Z offset a bit easier, but really isn't a complete necessity so I think I can overlook the screen and knob foibles. Am I ready for a Voron 2.4 clone from Sovol? Maybe after it gets refined a bit more and the price drops a bit more, too. I do like the fact that it's open source, unlike the SV07. But when you clone an open source machine (said Voron 2.4), it's contractual.
Turning off flow calibration and the other tweaks has fixed the issues I was having with bed adhesion. Thanks.
First time seeing your channel. Love the dr who inspired intro :3
I don’t think you will respond but when try to do the m303 e0 s220 c3 code I get an error that’s reads PID Autotune failed! Bad heater id ok P15 B15 any ideas?
Hi I can't the materials menu to appear at all is it still there ?
I’ve just purchased this one and also the 2.0 version. My thoughts on it are. Space: - larger unit - pre set temperatures for easy selection - filament port at front not suitable for example k1 unless facing other way 2.0 - Smaller - seal on the unit seems more tight - knob control easy to use - manual entry of temperatures having to revert back to paper for temperature to set
Upon further comparison the 2.0 shows the pla humidity reading at 16%, when placed into the space pi and run it shows as 26%. When running pla in both and swapping after a 4 hour window the numbers just don’t add up. I don’t think I could say which one is correct at this point
Before getting my P1S I was sure I needed this. Now that I got the printer for about 5 days I don’t see the point anymore. I only used the screen on the printer for initial setup and never looked at it again...
Thank you for being an awesome teacher!
I am relatively new to electronics Bryan. Believe it or not your tutorial with coding is the first to make my sensor work properly, Soo happy. Great job.
thank you :)
Can you provide a l😅Nj to your halo light and did you power that off the board?
I bought the two-roll version. She is very loud. I think I will replace the fan with an NN one.
Would be intelligent if they'd add a tap for the effect sheet in the filament settings so one has not to manually change that every time.
Where can I find the jig? I’ve searched maker world and can’t find it. Found the PEI sticker tool but not the jig you’re using.
It had been on the support page with the installation instructions, but it looks like they've got it up on MakerWorld now. Here's a link: makerworld.com/en/models/470778#profileId-380298
Thank you! my I got my ender from my dad, and the screen wasn't working, and I couldn't find any cracks or damage, so I thought installing the firmware but I wasn't sure how. Thank you so much for this thorough explanation! it brought it back to life yay!
Great! I'm glad this video helped!
You’re not going to get much currency in that kind of humor. 😂
this dude is awesome. not only does he help a lot but he also sound like a dude on the radio.
What a pleasant presentation style you have!
You save my day with this video! Thanks 👍
Glad I could help!
@@BV3D I am having a problem that during printing the 'Z' axis is not moving up, maybe it goes up two or three layers, the motor is running from the menu, but not during printing, I have already tried different firmwares. I have already put the bed on level.
hi i updated the firmware but forgot to take note of steps per mm settings. how can i now fix that ? thanks
Hi, why not work G29 to meshbedleveling before print.?
I am a begginner and this is my first printer. Im having issues with filament getting stuck in the nozzle after a print. I heat up the nozzle and try to get it to push through or allow me to pull it, but it snaps (the filament). Ive had to take apart the head twice so far and its kinda frustrating. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop this from happening
downloaded the plans, but there are 4 towers, it only needs two to hold the spools, does it matter which two you use?
Mark it with a big x and wipe with a cloth withbsome IPA. Wipe again up ton4 times before cleaning and starting over with gluestick
I would love to know how many successful prints you have got with these because I am having such a hard time with these, I’ve used numerous effect plates and these are terrible I’ve done so many adjustments and nothing works but I can use my Amazon effect sheet just fine lol
