    I've been following since the first videos. The animations have improved and become gigachad... the narration is great, I'm waiting for the new ones, thank you!

    That's wonderful to hear. Thank you very much! I'm glad that you think animations are getting better. But surprised to hear that you like my narration, pleasantly of course! I'm trying my best with each aspect of the video, but the narration is what I'm more anxious about, to be honest.

    Great animations and maps. HB 3D thanks for mentioning the English cannons in the battle. I wonder what impact it had on the French forces. Now artillery is one of the main forces on the battlefield but then it was a new super weapon.

    The cinematics have taken on an incredible quality, even so, it's funny like in the videos and the games, the soldiers cut through their armor as if it were cloth, the reality was that the fights were extremely more aggressive, with the soldiers piercing the heads of their enemies with the pommels of their swords and their shields, throwing them to the ground to stab their heads through the vices of their helmets, breaking their limbs and stepping on their necks until they break. Was really wild, not at all chivalrous, not at all honorable.

    You are quite right, indeed. This was something that I would really like to represent somehow on screen, but until now I'm lacking the proper animations. I would either have to find them somewhere and buy them, or make them from scratch which would be a gigantic undertaking. If the channel becomes bigger and more profitable I intend to buy a motion capture set. I would then be able to take the animations to another level in terms of accuracy.

    wtplay.link/historybattles - Download War Thunder for FREE and get your bonus! That took a LONG time, I know... Crecy was probably the most difficult battle to create, technically speaking. It has almost everything to make its digital recreation a nightmare. Crossbowmen, huge cavalry charges, cannons, archers, infantry. All put together into a coding and artistic puzzle. I did everything I could to present this battle both accurately but also artistically appealing. I really hope you like it!

    It was not skill that won the battle for Normans, The Anglo Saxons had fought several battles before arriving at Hastings (well nearly Hastings). Harold has just fought off a Viking offensive (maybe more), which didn't help.

    I think William's horse was killed at some point and he fell to the ground with English soldiers from the flank that broke the shield wall just feet away. He then got another horse from one of his knights and managed to escape the danger. Great animation by the way.

    Would love to see it with a proper topographical layout of the ground in the carse of Balquhiderock, where the battle took place, between the two waters the Pelstream and the Bannockburn. Your graphics are very good, combined with a layout of the carse and the features of the day, it would look even more amazing!

  • @historybattles3D
    @historybattles3D12 күн бұрын

    Thank you very much for the wonderful feedback! Do you think that the topography is off? I theoritically based it on the topography of the area, using a heightmap to create the layout. But the scaling might be a bit off.

    @@historybattles3D a great book that will provide you with an ideal layout is Genius of Bannockburn by William Scott. I think you could do a great job reconstructing that. The vital factor being that the Scot’s closed off the carse between the two waterways, and the English cavalry mounted in alarm having no room to get up momentum for a charge before they crashed into the pikes. The Scots number were far more than John Barbour’s account written 63 years after the battle. The English sources, some written within a year are much more accurate, and the entire Scot’s army fought on foot with Bruce at the front leading the centre. If you want to collaborate further I am happy to do so… Check out the info on my videos of the Battlesite.

    @@robertthebruce-geniusofban647 That's very interesting and thanks for the heads-up! I wish I could have your guidance during the creation of the video! I might recreate the video at some point especially now that my system that controls cavalry behavior is so much better and advance. The battle will look more natural. I'll soon upload the Battle of Crecy in which you can see the improved behavior of both cavalry and infantry.
