  there is another hidden 1, when you are resolving polynomials. example: (2b² + 3b -6) - (2b² - 4b - 9). there is a hidden 1 next to the parenthesis on the second trinomial, so you need to distribute "'-1 " before you do the math, adding the "like terms".

  (2b² + 3b -6) - (2b² - 4b - 9) = 2b² + 3b - 6 - 2b² +4b + 9, which the final result is 7b + 4. Note that when we distribuite the "-1" to -4b and to -9, they both become postive. hope it helps anyone struggling with algebra.

  Hi, I have a question which seems kind of dumb but if we are given a table and are told to identify whether the function is linear or exponential, and then write the function rule how would you write it for a linear function?

  Find the slope using any two points. Then, if one of the points in the table has an x-coordinate of 0, the y-coordinate of that point is the y-intercept. Write the equation using y=mx+b. Where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. If one of the x values in the table is not zero then using the slope and ANY ordered pair from the table input for x, y, and m and solve for b.
