The vloggers and tiktokers here in se-asia is a fast growing plauge..in some places u cant walk even 20 steps without seeing a person mindnumbing talking dramatic in to a camera or making fools of themself online Many country's in ASEAN area like Thailand and Indonesia has begun to talk about taxes for "digital nomads" and limiting the rights to stick cameras in ppls faces and places
Yea it's a little crazy in Bali. When I pull my camera out especially in kuta, the folks here don't like it at all. Will probably make a video about that 😅

if everyday you go out from the apartment before 9 am and come back after 7 pm, then there will be no problem for you since nobody cares enough to check for the tenant after working hour. or if you just sleep in the dorm the whole day, you will be safe too.

According to the notice I read in the lobby, tenants renting the apartments as Airbnb's etc is prohibited. So I think the landlord I was staying with was probably breaking the building rules..Both of us could have gotten in trouble.
The notice said as of 12.06.2023, the building management prohibited short term rental of apartments for less than one month (Airbnb). So it is likely that the owner is breaking the rule by renting out rooms in the apartment for short term period. Not shady but the apartment owner is breaking the rules. It is likely that Usama is renting the apartment on long term basis and subletting the other two rooms as AirBNB.

This guy. If he’d spent the last four years working as an English teacher, he’d be driving a Lexus and sleeping in a condo in BKK instead of telling bs stories to get a few dollars from ppl. It’s sad but annoying too. He was deported from the states after a felony conviction and prison sentence. I empathize with that, but there are so many opportunities for him to flourish here with the gift of clear American English, he could be paid heavy.
